use. I have created this digital planner to be used in conjunction with most PDF annotation apps and Navigating and writing on your planner Page 4

Getting your planner into Goodnotes
You have been provided with a download sheet that contains various options for your planner. You can A menu will then pop up, which offers you a few options. From this menu you can choose to open your

Once you have downloaded the planner, head on over to where you saved it (use the files app on your
iPad to do this). Click on the downloaded planner and it should open up and look something similar to
the picture below.

Goodnotes app. You can possibly find this
option in two locations as highlighted

At this point you will get a prompt inviting you to add your planner to the goodnotes app. Make sure
you choose to add the planner as a NEW DOCUMENT

At this point you cannot use the planner yet. You will need to click on the SHARE button in the top right
as shown below.

Sometimes whilst your file is uploading, Goodnotes can crash. This is not your fault and is something
that I have personally experienced a few times with the app. If this happens to you, don’t panic. What
you can do instead is manually import your file by clicking the ‘+’ button shown below. Then select
‘import’ and manually locate your file and then choose it, this will load your planner straight into
Goodnotes.

Navigating and writing on your planner Panning across and zooming in and out
The Goodnotes app has 2 main modes, the navigation mode and write mode. The read mode allows You might be wondering how you can possibly write small enough to fit into the tiny areas on your
you to navigate your planner and use the buttons, the tabs and the hyperlinks. You cannot write or planner, but the solution is as simple as a snap of your fingers or in this case a pinch! Like you would on
annotate anything in this mode. You will need to switch to the write mode to be able to enter info into a mobile phone you use your index finger and thumb to ‘pinch’ on your screen to zoom out and you

access various areas of the planner page.

Using the pen tool
So now that you have switched into writing mode and have access to the various tools, you should be

Goodnotes is a great app in helping you to personlise your writing within your planner. If you would like
to alter either the thickness of the pen stroke or the stroke color, have a look at the options presented to
you to the right of the Goodnotes toolbar. Please note, these options can only be seen when you have
the pen tool selected.

You can have up to 3


preselected colors in the
toolbar, this allows for quick
journalling. You can change
the color as you please by
clicking on the colored circle.

Using the eraser tool
If you make a mistake in your entry, there are two ways to erase it. You can click on the undo button or
you can use the eraser tool. Me personally, I like the natural feel of using an eraser type tool, but you
may have a different preference.

As in the pen tool, one you have the eraser tool selected you can vary the thickness of the eraser
stroke. You get a choice of thin, medium and thick eraser strokes. The one difference is that you cannot
vary the thickness of the stroke as you can in the pen tool option.

Using the highlighter tool
The highlighter tool is a great one for bringing your attention to some importance piece of information or

Using the type tool
Some people prefer to type out their information rather than use handwritten notes. This is an awesome Change font size
feature especially if you have a bluetooth keyboard and if you don’t, there are many beautiful
inexpensive options available in the market. You can also alter the size of the font you use, making it quite versatile when using the font for either
titles, sub headings or general paragraphs.

either the left, right or center
and also manipulate the line
spacing. This gives you an
amazing level of control over
your type.

Save your favorite combination

The last thing you want to be doing is having to set up your typing preferences every single time when
you use your planner. Luckily for us, there is a save button that allows you to save your favorite text
combinations.

Click on this icon and then


‘Save as default’. Once you
have saved a few
combinations, they will
appear in the text styling box,
allowing you to effortlessly
switch between styles

Using the Goodnotes sticker book
Your planner comes with a great range of digital stickers in the form of a Goodnotes sticker book. You
will need to add this sticker book as a SEPARATE DOCUMENT into your Goodnotes app. Once you
have done this, please go ahead and enter writing mode (see how to do this on this page)

Once you are in writing mode, please select the ‘Lasso Tool’ as shown in the picture below.

When you resize the sticker it


may look blurred as in the
picture. Don’t worry, the
sticker has not rendered
properly yet and is very
normal

Using your Apple pencil, tap


anywhere else other than the
sticker and it will render and
the resolution of the sticker

Using the individual stickers
If you want to use the individual stickers instead, you can make use of a great feature on Goodnotes
called ‘Elements’. You can find the elements icon on the toolbar as shown in the picture below. Before
you use this feature, make sure that you have saved the individual stickers to your actual device and in When you have scrolled far

collection and then you can
click on “import From’ and
choose the location where
you have saved your stickers.

Adding images
Adding photos to your planner is quite simple in Goodnotes. You click on the image icon and then you Once you added the image (s) you wanted to your planner you can resize them by dragging the small

Bookmarking pages
There may be certain pages that you want to access regularly and the bookmarking feature on When you click on the thumbnail icon it brings up another menu. By default the tab within the menu will

Using your planner templates
Your planner has a wide range of templates that you can use to supercharge your planner and help you Now you have chosen and have copied the template. Next you need to go in to the thumbnail view and
to achieve balance between productivity and harmony. You begin by first navigating over to a template navigate to the area of the planner that you want to place the copied template. You can access the

After you click on ‘Add Page After’, another mini


menu pops up and then you choose the ‘Paste’
option from the list. This will paste the template
that you copied

Deleting pages
There may be some pages that you dont want on your planner, you can delete them without affecting
any of the hyperlinks on your planner.

Click on the thumbnail icon to


get an overview of your entire
planner and choose what
pages you want to delete

Once you have selected the pages to delete,


please click on the trash button and they will be
deleted. THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE so please
choose carefully!

Click on the select button and


then choose all the pages that
you want to delete
