ACTIVATE Expalin the following terms:

Drafting Pattern is the process of


creating a pattern or an outline by
taking measurements from a person, form,
or model, in order to create a
foundation, which is a pattern used as
the basis for the design. This pattern or
outline is known as Draft, which is then
transferred on to the cloth to be cut

In fabric prepping, there are three steps
you need to do, they are:
1. Pre-treating/Wash and dry your fabric
2. Pressing/Ironing your fabric
3. Put your fabric on-grain.

Pre-treating is washing and drying as you


plan to wash your finished garments for
the purpose of pre-shrinking and removing
the excess dyes and chemicals in the
fabric.23 But there are some fabrics that
frays a lot so making a zigzag stitch at
the cut ends will help to lessen the
fraying of the fabric

Pressing is the removing out of any


wrinkles in your fabric while making sure
that you are using a temperature that is
suitable for your fabric. Fabrics that
are wrinkle-free are much easier to lay-
out the draft pattern
