LEARNING OUTLINE
PRE-LESSON
1. Ask pupils to sing the song from previous lesson. (track 34)
2. Ask pupils to name the action verbs in the song.

Draw pupils’ attention to the picture and elicit what they can see. (SB pg 87 Activity 4)
Play the CD and have pupils chorally repeat the dialogue. (track 39)
Divide pupils into pairs. Distribute worksheet.
Have pupils take turns asking one another about their weekend.
Point out to pupils that they can write down theirs and their partner’s answers in the table provided.
They can also ask more classmates for their answers if there is time. Monitor carefully.
Have pairs of pupils present the dialogue to the rest of the class.
3. Activity 3:
Ask pupils to write one or more sentences about what they and/or their classmate(s) did at the weekend in their
notebooks.
Ask pupils to check their partner’s work and provide some feedback.
Pupils can write the final draft of their sentences on the worksheet. Collect pupils’ work so that you can review
their progress in use of past simple and identify any other areas that are causing problems.
