Pre-lesson
1. With book closed , ask a pupil to hold up their pen.
Ask : Is that my pen ? / answer : No , it’s Ana’s pen.
2. Repeat the process with another pupil and their notebook or bag.

Lesson delivery
3. Pupils look at activity 1 and ask them to read the examples and note the position of the possessive’s .
4. Read through the rules with the class and elicit the correct answers .
5. Pupils do p.7 Activity 2 then in pairs take turns to say the phrases.
6. Tell pupils they are going to hear two people talking on a phone. Read the three
ACTIVITIES sentences in Activity 3 aloud. Pupils listen for the correct words at end of these
sentences. Play ( CD 1-08 ) . Can they find another word with ‘s’ at the end that has the sound /z/?
(speakers)
7. Pupils read and complete the table in Activity 4. In pairs they take turns to listen
and respond to their partner’s 3 questions about places.

Post-lesson
8. Pupils in groups place some of their personal classroom objects in middle of a
desk or table. They take turns to say the sentence .
9. If they are correct, they give the object back to the pupil who owns it.

Pre-lesson
1. Write on board: Where are you in the classroom? Write: near, between, opposite
and next to in a vocabulary box. Elicit sentences from pupils to describe their position in the classroom e.g. I’m near / I’m
not near the door. I’m between __’s desk and ___’s desk etc.

Lesson delivery
2. Pupils complete the questions with the correct words .
3. Pupils could write extra questions to ask their partner .
4. Allow pupils to compare their answers in pair then ask some pupils to read out the questions . Correct any errors.
5. Put pupils into pairs to ask and answer the questions . Ask some pupils to tell the class something about their partner .
6. Pupils look at the table with person, city and place in Activity 6. Check if they

people and elicit information about them.
7. Tell pupils that you are with a famous person in one of the cities in the table , in one of the places .
8. Encourage them to ask teacher questions to guess who are teacher with ,which city and which place were teacher in .
9. Put pupils into pairs to ask questions and guess their partner’s information .
10. The activity can be a competitive by telling pupils to count how many questions they take to guess the answer . The pupils
who uses the fewest questions wins .
11. Extra activity: If time, do Activity 4 in Student’s Workbook, p.7. Pupils in pairs
w rite questions with words in the six sentences then ask and answer the questions in pairs.

Post-lesson
12. Who am I? Sit on a seat at front of class. Tell pupils you are a famous Malaysian
person. They ask questions starting with ‘Are you…’ to find out who you are.

3. Elicit a few ideas and elicit adjectives such as big , small , fast, slow.
4. Write these on the board and explain that they adjectives and we use them to describe things.

5. Pupils read adjectives in p.8 Activity 1.
6. Pupils read text again. Ask: What’s the name of the first writer? And the second; and the third? Pupils answer questions
about the three children in Activity 2. Check answers.
ACTIVITIES 7. Refer pupils back to the text in exercise 1. Ask them to look in their school bag and write three sentences describing what
is in their bag, using I’ve got and an adjective from exercise 1.
8. Pupils can read their sentences to each other in pairs, omitting the adjectives .
9. Their partner must guess the missing adjectives . See who managed to guess all three of their partner’s adjectives .
10. Pupils in pairs swap sentences and find adjectives in their descriptions. Are they the same or different from their partner’s
adjectives?

Post-lesson
11. Pupils in groups of three, take turns to ask and answer the questions: What have you got in your pocket / on your desk /
under your bed? They include an adjective in their answer e.g. I have a small notebook in my pocket.

1. Write ‘Adjectives’ in centre of a mind map. Elicit adjectives from previous lesson and write around mind map. Pupils say
any opposite adjectives they know. How many opposites can they match?

Lesson delivery
2. Write: ‘very’, ‘really’, ‘quite’ on board. Model sentences with words in context e.g. ‘I’m very/really interested in music’.
Ask: What kind of words go after very, really, quite? Pupils read p.8, Key Phrases.
3. Draw table on board with headings TV programmes, Places, People, Games or Films. Elicit examples of sentences about
ACTIVITIES programmes, places etc. Pupils do Activity 3. They compare with a partner. Choose pupils to say a sentence.
4. Pupils do Activity 4. They memorise two of their sentences then in pairs tell each other.
5. Pupils re-read the text on p.8, Activity 1, which they did in previous lesson. They find examples of: has got, have got,
hasn’t got and haven’t got. Choose pupils to give examples and to say if they are from Paul’s, Ben’s or Maria’s text or from
Activity 2.
6. Read the table in p.9, Activity 3 with pupils then they complete it.

Post-lesson
7. Pupils in small groups prepare 3–4 questions to ask you about things you have got. Choose a leader from each group to ask
two of their questions. Pupils from other groups can’t repeat the same question.

poem.

2. Tell pupils that they are going to create a mask and tell their story about the falling tooth in
groups.
3. In groups, pupils discuss on how to create the mask.
4. Teacher encourages pupils to use connectors (first, next and finally) in their
story so that it is easier to narrate it.
5. Provide time for pupils to create the mask of a person with a loose tooth (either
boy or girl) and their story based on their imagination and creativity.
6. Then, pupils take turn to narrate their story.
