A. BACKGROUND

Action Plan Title Strengthening Leadership Skill in the 21st Century: A Leadership-Training for the Future
Educators of BUGC

Needs/Gaps and Issues The overall issue was that several teachers left the area of education because they lacked
strong leadership abilities in managing the classroom, including exercising organizational,
leadership, and classroom management abilities. Therefore, there is a need to address the
issue concerning on the leadership skills of the future educators, to prepare them in the
demands of the 21st Century learning and teaching process.
Characterization and Segmentation of the Plan According to Mark P. Mcdonald, a Gartner analyst, leaders of the twenty-first century must be
an artist with the ability to adapt quickly in a workplace where the capacity to “relate, create
and agitate change” is what characterizes overall success. To be prepared to handle the
specific challenges of the 21st century, teachers or leaders need to adopt a modern mindset.
This is what 21st century leadership entails. Moreover, the activity that will be conducted is
based on the behaviors, abilities, and traits of effective leadership that can only be learned
and cultivated by diligent study and training.
Objectives  Develop understanding of the 21st Century Leadership Skills
 To reflect on the knowledge gained from the Leadership Training
 Demonstrate 21st century leadership skills of teachers
Expected Output Pictures, Video documentation of the Leadership training
Expected Outcomes  The 21st Century leadership skill of the pre-service teachers are enhanced
 The importance of 21st Century leadership skill is realized
 21st Century Leadership skill is manifested during and after the training
Beneficiaries BSED Filipino and Social Studies Students (All Year-level), BEED (All Year-level)
Strategies The undertaking of the leadership training will primarily start in planning the activity to organize
the dates of the training, the list of respondents, and the availability of the resource speakers,
venue, and other training materials. The second phase of strategic planning is to ensure that
the activity will run effectively through communicating with the respondents and speakers and
reviewing all the resources and materials to be used in the training. Lastly, at the end of the
activity, the organizers will provide a certificate of appreciation for those who attended the
training.
