A punctuation mark is a symbol such as

a full stop or period (.), comma(,)
quotation mark ("), exclamation mark
(!) and question mark (?) that you use
to divide written words into sentences
and clauses.

Punctuation fills our writing with silent

an exclamation point or a question

and precision to writing; it allows the
writer to stop, pause, or give emphasis
to certain parts of the sentence.

It expresses the end of a sentence and

sometimes abbreviations.
