Project R.E.A.D (Reading Endeavors Across Disciplines)

The Department of Education (DepEd) issues the enclosed policy guidelines on


the Utilization of the EGRA and EGMA Tools for System Assessment as a basis for
monitoring and evaluating the implementation of Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual
Education (MTB-MLE) and Kindergarten to Grade 3 literacy and numeracy programs.

Also, the Department of Education (DepEd) supports Every Child a Reader


Program, which aims to make every Filipino child a reader and a writer at his/her grade
level. Thus, the DepEd through the Bureau of Learning Delivery-Teaching and
Learning Division (BLD-TLD) shall continue to administer the Revised Philippine
Informal Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI) assessment to learners in public elementary
schools nationwide effective School Year 2018-2019.

These said assessment tools aims to measure and describe the learners’ reading
performance in MTB, Filipino and English. These then help to determine the
students’ reading level.

In support to the reading assessment tools, the school made use of all the
resources and donations they could possibly get in order to build and create
PROJECT R.E.A.D (Reading Endeavors Across Disciplines). This project tends to
provide interactive remediation in their reading skills with a touch of learning across
other subjects. Moreover, the project somehow helps young learners learn better and
faster in their numeracy and literacy while having fun with the physical fun activities.
This is designed with colorful murals of numbers, letters, colors, shapes where kids
can move, jump, spell, do basic math operations, and color-shape identification.

With this, the school strongly believe that this project can have a strong and positive
impact to the students especially during the reading remediation.

Rationale:
