I. RATIONALE:

The K to 12 Basic Education Program through the MAPEH Curriculum


envisions learners who:
a. demonstrate understanding of concepts pertaining to rhythm and
musical symbols (Music);
b. demonstrate understanding of lines, texture, and shapes; and
balance of size and repetition of motifs/ patterns through drawing
(ART);
c. demonstrate understanding of participation and assessment of
physical activities and physical fitness (PE); and
d. understand the importance of reading food labels in selecting
healthier and safer food (Health).

These skills can only be achieved by strengthening classroom instruction


with the application of 21st century teaching strategies and developmentally-
appropriate activities like Classroom-based MAPEH Day conducted each
quarter.

Thus, it is in this light that this Classroom-based MAPED Day


should be a part of learner’s activities alongside learning experiences during the
40-minute classroom instruction daily.

II. OBJECTIVES:
The First Quarter MAPEH Day aims to:
a. identifies different kinds of notes and rests (whole, half, quarter,
and eighth) ( MUSIC);
b. creates specific clothing, objects, and designs of at least one the
cultural communities by applying an indigenous cultural motiff
into a contemporary design through crayon etching technique
(ART);
c. participate and asses performance in physical activities and asses
physical fitness (PE); and
d. understand the significance of reading and interpreting food
labels in selecting healthier and safer food (Health).
