~ TRANSITION TO ADAPTATION ~
If we ever take a cursory moment to settle down, amongst the ripples of our chaotic lives, and meditate over the number of changes that occurred in our lives over the
past thirty days, the resulting figure might not be something we could count on our fingers. Be it one’s personal growth, an academic setback, or permanent
relocation from one chapter of our lives to the other, change is inevitable and, indeed, the only constant. There are times when we zealously embrace the change like
the coveted celestial showers after a parched season of barrenness, but on the parallel, there also co-exist moments when all we yearn for is for situations to go back
to the way they were, when normalcy disguises itself as a priceless luxury.
Amongst all these crests and troughs life jerks us through, sometimes we’re left only with the hope of adapting our way to peace and self-possession. Transitioning
through various stages of life is inevitable, especially for students, but the importance of adroitness in making ourselves a part of each transition is what we
eventually learn to accept. We’re here to assist you have a smooth experience through this restyling of the order.
Dedicating this edition to the theme of transitioning from the online to the offline mode of learning, we’re elated to unfurl before you another issue of HansVision,
maintaining the nuance of the pages to complement the famed red walls of Hansraj. We hope to complement the red of the famed red walls of our college with the
variegated palette of opinions in the pages that follow.

SCINTILLA 2.0
1. CANCEL CULTURE
The second segment of Scintilla 2.0, the annual fest of Vision, commenced with an
insightful and engaging panel discussion based on the pervasive cancel culture, a
polarising concern which has been subjected to debates in the past few years. The topic for
the discussion was 'Unravelling the Cancel Culture.' Our panellists, from different spheres
of life, gathered on one platform to share their views and anecdotes concerning the topic
in question, to create awareness aimed at trimming the branches of this growing global
concern. Alongwith a fruitful discussion, the event also marked the launch of the 14th issue
of HansVision, the official biannual newsletter of Hansraj college.

2. NEWSATHON
For the ones who revel in keeping up with the happenings of the world and had been trying
their hand at news-reading, Vision organised 'Newsathon', a news-reading competition,
another gem from the crown called Scintilla 2.0.
The competition paired the tasks of recording and uploading the audio and the written
script of a self-written piece of news based on one picture of any recent event. Tanushree
Pandey, one of the leading journalists of our country, currently working at The Print, and
an alumnus of our prestigious college, served as the Chief Guest.
Seerat Mehra and Rishabh Sharma smoothly bagged the first position, followed by Taniya
Dalal and Vilakshan Sharma, who secured the second and third positions, respectively.

3. PITCH-ER-PERFECT
For the lovers of pop culture and for those who were willing to be challenged in the field
of their fandom and expertise, in order to explore new theories and ideologies, we
organised Pitch-er Perfect, a debate cum group discussion competition with a platform
for debate and discussion in a moderated caucus environment. The participants were
presented with a triad- Marvel's Atelier, the Otaku Conclave, and Nimbus 2022- which
were the Marvel, Anime, and Harry Potter panels, respectively.
While Gouransh emerged triumphant in Marvel's Atelier, Soumik Dasgupta won The
Otaku Conclave and Kirti earned herself the title of Nimbus 2022 champion.

Scintilla is Vision's annual celebratory fest organised by our team to open your eyelids to an all-

DID embracing horizon of amusement, which goes hand-in-hand with the freshness of experiential
illumination. We attempt to flatten the artificial walls erected around us – walls of distance,
ignorance, and insatiability – and bring to you a plethora of captivating events and competitions.
YOU Although, in English, the word 'scintilla' suggests a feebly restricted and figurative sense of its
literal translation "spark" the Latin scintilla is associated with the verb "scintillare", which means
KNOW ? "to sparkle" and can be further bracketed with the English verb "scintillate". Currently, the word is
used as a sweet-sounding substitute to describe a minuscule trace of a feeling or quality, spelled
out in its definition.

NORTH CAMPUS is home to people coming from all over the country. 'Variety' is a word that defines the
essence here. Comprising almost 13 colleges, there persists and resides an immensity of linguistic and cultural
diversity, in the campus region.
From Punjabi dances to Rajasthani music, from Assamese cuisine to Himachali outfits, from Bangla poetry to
Tamilian rituals, there is something to learn from everything and everyone. This place provides one with an
opportunity to know them all.
Above all, societies and activities like parades, PRIDE marches, nukkad nataks etc. collect people from all walks
of life together. Forgetting all differences, when students come together for a common cause, they are a true
representation of 'Unity in diversity'.
Everyone, here, wears a unique identity that is accepted by others with open arms. If you walk on campus roads
in ripped jeans and hair dyed blue, you are confident for who you are and will not be judged. If you scream your
lungs out saying 'Love is Love', there would be hundreds of others joining you with the same.
The campus liberates your thoughts and gives wings to your personality. It helps you overcome all your
insecurities and grooms your mind and soul. When it is the call of the hour to leave the campus, you are sure
that you have become a better version of yourselves, as compared to before.

Here’s a thing : Delhi’s Cotton Candy

You pack your bags,
Say goodbyes and leave.
Amoebas split apart,
Sky Nostalgia retouched her memory lane
Throwing back to the time when she was young and naive,
In the carefree spirit of innocence and bliss
To give birth to life, With mirthful laughter and joy,
She ran towards the vendor
And so do you. Tinkling the bells,
At various moments carrying the hand-pulled cart
Loaded with coloured cotton candy stacks.
At various intervals
You leave things behind, The fluffy gourmet of sugar-coated threads,
Tickled the fancy of the six-year-old
To be somewhere else. Giggles deepened her expression lines,
But hear me, As she tasted more and more.
When you feel lonely The tongue turning pink, to her seemed no less than magic
See the sky. And the day was made for the happy kid
Twirling and dancing and jumping around
The same sky, With a stick in hand of the sugary ball
Your mother is watching, sipping tea; Of all the candies that she tasted, she loved it the super most
The same sky your lover is seeing, Now that her favourite treat is rare to be found
To find traces of you. She plunges into a thought so deep,
Gazing at the monochromatic photograph
The same sky, in all its different shades; Maybe she will run around the fair once again,
Binding past and future together, Reliving and relishing those happy times,
Searching for the ball of sweet fluffy cloud
Stitching dreams and realities. That pleased her soul with its fancy charm.
