CAUTION: Do not forget to open the spot S again atter the repairs are complete! NOTE: Ii spotSis closed and the generator is downthe generator screen stillshows the actual vaiueof the gener- ator ‘50kV/AmA\; this cannot be true! The actual value is not the measured value! 9.10.3.1 Safety Circuit Tho HT generator will always switch off if there is a safety error. The status of the safety circuit can be checked on the {generator screen. If an error is displayed check the circuit, this is shown in Figure 1.12 9.10,3.2. 300V d.c. Resonator Supply Check the voliage across capacitors C603 and C604 (Figure 1.11). This voltage should not drop below 286V, at fullload (60kV/4mA) 9.10.33 kV Control NOTE: Mount the KV control on a extension board Carry out the following checks, on this board: 1. Reterence voltage. ‘a, Measure the voltage at the junction of R101 and R37. This must be +6V +460mV b. Measure the reference voltage at test point X6. The must be -2V with the HT-olt 2. kV control function check. The functions of the VCO, triggering circutt, resonator circuit and trigger sequence contro}; without the HT tank, HT cable and X-Ray tube, can be checked as follows: a, Close spot S (J3) and open spot T (J2) b. Disconnect connector X632 from the power unit. Mab a short between X4 and the junction of the capacitors C1 and G2 on the resonator board. d. Connect a variable power supply between X2 (positive line) and the zero line (AC32 of the board connector). The variable supply must stay <+5V. . Put the current probe over short circui! wire on the resonator board. 1, Switchon theinstrument and HT andmeasure the resonator current by increasing the variable volt- age supply CAUTION: Keep the voltage supply lower than 5V! g. The current should have a form as given 9.10.2. h. _Afterthe test, close spot T, remove the short on the resonator board and replace connector 632.
