Allah Almighty, in Whose Name we begin, The Most Compassionate,

The Most Merciful
All Praise is due to Allah Almighty, Countless Peace and Blessings be upon
His Beloved Messenger – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – his
family & his companions – may Allah be pleased with them all

First of all, I would like to thank ‫ بزم اختری رضوی‬for inviting me to speak today,

Honorable and respected teachers and dear friends I am delighted and

excited to have the opportunity to share my thoughts with you on the
Description of Holy Prophet Mohammad – may Allah’s peace and blessings
be upon him –

When the Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬was granted permission to migrate (the

Hijrah) from Makkah to Madinah. He was accompanied by his companions
Abu Bakr (ra) and his freed slave ’Amar ibn Fuhairah (ra) alongside their
guide, ’Abdullah ibn Uraiqit (who was a polytheist).
During their migration they rested at a camp in Qudaid at a time of drought.
They requested some food and drink from Umm Ma‘bad but there was
unfortunately nothing to offer them. The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬noticed a solitary and
weak goat, which he requested Umm Ma‘bad to milk.
Miraculously the milk started gushing milk at the blessed hand of the
Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬and they all drank and the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬left plenty of milk for
Umm Ma‘bad and her family.
When her husband, Aktham ibn Abu al-Jawn al-Khuza‘i returned from
herding his sheep he ‫ ﷺ‬all the milk. He asked his wife where this had come
from and she explained a ‘blessed man’ had passed by us. He asked her to

describe him (‫ )ﷺ‬and what follows is Umm Ma‘bad’s incredible description

of the Messenger of Allah (‫)ﷺ‬.

On the authority of Umm Ma‘bad ‘Atikah bint Khalid al-Khuza‘iyyah (ra) who said:
َ َ َ ً ُ َ ُ
I ‫ ﷺ‬a man of visible radiance and purity, beautiful appearance,
َ
َ ‫ج‬

bright faced,
َ َ َ َ
a specimen of creation and beautifully created,
with neither protruding ribs,
ٌ ُ َ
nor a small and disproportionate head,

handsome and fair,
His eyes were deep black and large, and his eyelashes were lush,
ٌ َ
His voice was mellow, soft and a natural echo,
ٌ ‫س‬
ِ
His neck was long,
his beard was densely full and thick,
َ َ

The whiteness of his eyes was excessively bright and his pupils were immensely
black. His eyebrows were beautifully arched but the two eyebrows did not meet
each other; there was a space between them,
َ َ َ َ َ َ
When he was silent, dignity covered him,
When he spoke, he was eminent and crowned with magnificence,
َ َ ُ َ
He was the most striking and beautiful of people when seen from afar,
َ ُ ُ َ َ
And the fairest and outstanding of them when seen up close,
،‫ق‬ ً ُ ُ
So, such an exalted and sweet level of logic, like when he used to speak it was so
coherently logical, it was smooth and easy to understand,
his words were precise and to the point, neither too little nor too much
Like a string of pearls flowing down gradually. Calculated, polished, one after the
other it would flow magically,
He was medium in height, neither unagreeably tall nor scornfully short,
Your eyes did not have to strain tedious to look down at him,
َ ُ َ ٌ ُ
A branch between two branches,
َ َ َ
Among the three he was the most radiant in appearance,
the finest of them in stature,
He was surrounded by companions,
َ ُ َ
Page |4

When he spoke, they listened attentively,

When he gave orders or command, they hastened and competed to fulfil the
command,
ٌ ُ ٌ ُ
Honoured, served and surrounded by followers,
ٌ ُ ٌ َ
He neither frowned, nor criticised,

This is Mohammad Rasool Allah (‫)ﷺ‬

Anas bin Malik says: - may Allah be pleased with him –

I came out one night it was the full moon night and I looked at the moon in
the desert understand the moon is an awesome sight its is smooth, it is
radiant, it is clear, it is gentle compared to the scorching sun which they are
used to so the moon was the epitome of beauty so he says I came out one
night it was the full moon night and I saw it beautiful, handsome so I said
'let me go see if the moon is more handsome or my Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬let me see if
that is more beautiful or the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬is more beautiful so I went looked
at him standing afar so I looked at his face and looked at the moon many
times. And he says ‫ وہللا‬He (‫ )ﷺ‬was more handsome than the moon in its
entirely.

Hadrat Sayyidah Ayesha - may Allah be pleased with her –

Narrates that, “Once during the time of Sehri, I was sewing something when
the needle fell from my hand and the lamp was also extinguished. Suddenly,
the Holy Prophet - may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him - appeared
and from the Nur on his blessed face, the entire room became bright and I
also managed to find the needle.”

A’la Hadrat Imam Ahmed Raza - may Allah be pleased with him - explains,
“A lost needle is found through your smile. The evening becomes morning
through your brightness.” (Hadaaiq-e-Bakhshish)
