We are currently facing natural phenomena caused by the constant movements of

the earth’s crustal plates and climate change as well. In connection to this occurrence, the

DepEd Memorandum stated that all schools and offices under the Division of Lanao Del

Norte are enjoined to participate in the conduct of 2021 1st National Simultaneous

Earthquake Drill (NSED).

 Connectively, Pantao Ragat Central Elementary School conducted the National

Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on March 12 at 2:00 P.M. The drill started with the

ceremonial pressing of the button where teachers and another stakeholders present go out

as if it is an earthquake signal. The siren is loud enough for us to hear and be informed that

earthquake strikes and to perform the lifesaving actions the “Drop, Cover and Hold” as we

heard the siren. After the siren, we find good locations outside the school as a safest area.

After the drill, Our Philippine National Police discussed the importance of the drill,

giving us life saving tips and other pre- cautionary measures to be more prepared in case of

calamities like Earthquake.

Equipping ourselves with, basic skills and techniques, and gear up with new life-

saving information in times of crisis. It is better to be prepared than to wait for disaster to

strike upon you. This activity was actively participated by our men/women in uniform. Some

Parents and some students were also engaged and participated in the drill as well at their

home.
