Part I
1. Read the text and translate it into Ukrainian:

«Кар'єра: як її вибрати та розвивати»

Загальновідомий факт полягає в тому, що робота є важливою частиною для всіх, крім
небагатьох щасливчиків, які мають дохід незалежно від їх повсякденної діяльності. І можна
сказати: «Чим краща робота, тим кращі гроші і відповідна винагорода». У той же час багато
людей обирають роботу, яка дає їм відчуття досягнення, а також задоволення, навіть
незважаючи на бідніші гроші.

Яка альтернатива? Що краще: мати велику зарплату, мобільний телефон, службовий

автомобіль, цінну пенсію та медичну страховку чи просто мати комфорт і задоволення від того,
що ти допомагаєш іншим представникам суспільства, перебуваючи у відносно гіршому
фінансовому становищі?

Тоді ви повинні розрізняти роботу та кар’єру. Перше поняття передбачає рід занять. Друге
передбачає розвиток і прогрес. Крім того, амбіції є ще одним аспектом кар’єри, оскільки
досягнення, яких ви можете бажати, не стаються просто так: над ними потрібно працювати.
Багато людей в кар'єрі, наприклад, працюючи, особливо в корпораціях, дуже часто можуть
приділяти стільки ж або навіть більше своєї енергії та часу розвитку кар’єри, як і виконанню
своєї роботи. Тому тут на перший план виходить природжена конкурентоспроможність, тобто
випередити свого колегу на підвищення може принести вам більше задоволення, ніж успішне
завершення будь-якого проекту.

Як відомо, самі професії дуже різноманітні. Їх можна класифікувати на роботи, засновані на

здібностях, роботи, засновані на знаннях, або просто ті роботи, які ніхто не хоче

працівника. Крім того, компаніям також завжди будуть потрібні «фахівці», здатні вдосконалити
технологію для нового чи іншого технічного виробу, або ті, хто перекладає його інструкції з
експлуатації на іншу мову.У той же час для продажу та маркетингу таких продуктів буде
потрібно все більше і більше «спеціалістів широкого профілю». Правила розмежування праці,
які існували в попередні століття, зникають, оскільки комп’ютеризація бере на себе все більше і
більше механічних завдань у межах роботи: наприклад, таких як відповідність товару вимогам,
розрахунок ціни продукту, знаходячи законодавчий акт. Ці процеси змушують майбутніх
співробітників бути оригінальними, активними та креативними.

2. Answer the following questions:

1). What does a job mean for most people in practical terms?
In my opinion, for most it is a skill upgrade, to acquire and learn something new and just get paid for

4. Do you agree with the statement: “Most people won’t admit how they got their current jobs because
they are embarrassed to admit, that luck was involved.” Write down an essay of around 200 words
giving arguments to prove your opinion.
I agree with this statement only partially because nowadays people mostly do not want to admit how
they got this particular job so that their place is not taken. They are worried about the fact that you
can be a better specialist than them and can take their place if you find out that it is very easy to get a
job. Also, one of the factors why people don't want to tell is that they could be hired for this job by
their relatives, parents or friends. They can perfectly understand that they are not such a specialist in
this or that activity, but they are just lucky. An example of this is my friend who got a job. I won't say
which one, it's not important, but he said that the work is great, he has a convenient schedule, but in
reality, everything is not as good as he said. Let's start with the fact that he didn't get this job himself
thanks to his skills, but his old friends got him, firstly, secondly, they don't pay well there, but the
minimum wage that exists for Ukraine. Thirdly, he does not work in a high position, as he said, but as
an ordinary waiter But also, for the most part, it's not right to ask a person about things they don't

5. Speak about the peculiarities of choosing and developing a career nowadays.

Choosing a career nowadays is very important and quite difficult. Many people only after 25
understand what they want to get from this life. However, everyone wants to receive a high salary,
preferably in dollars, a flexible schedule in order to be more productive and not get tired. Especially
people want their work not to get boring and to develop into something more in the future. But to get
there, you need to understand what you want, save books, sports, studies and other interests of yours.

HEALTH CARE IN THE UK
Part I

1. Read the text and translate it into Ukrainian:

“Охорона здоров’я у Великобританії”
Через понад 55 років видатний прем’єр-міністр Вінстон Черчилль все ще залишається в пам’яті
британців і на голову вищий за будь-яку іншу знакову особистість.

Але виникає питання: чому після закінчення Другої світової війни і призначення загальних
виборів консерватор Вінстон Черчилль програв? Натомість Лейбористська партія здобула
переконливу перемогу, і прем’єр-міністром було обрано соціаліста Клемента Еттлі. Вважається,
що найважливішим чинником, який додав йому популярності, була робота Най Бевана,
валлійця, який виступав за заснування держави добробуту, яка забезпечує британцям кращі
державні пенсії, щедрішу допомогу у зв’язку з хворобою, допомогу по вагітності та пологах,

1. Why is it necessary to pay great attention to the prevention of different

diseases?
Using my example, I will say that this is very important, because I often closed
my eyes to it, and now I have a number of diseases that are difficult to cure
and I pay a lot of money for it. If I could go back in time, I would have been
cured early and saved money.
2. Why is it recommended to consult the doctor when something troubles a
man?
Because it may seem to a person that it is not important or that it will pass. In
fact, this may be a signal of some acute illness that requires serious

3. Do you believe in folk or herbal remedies for cold or other common ailments?
I believe in part, that's why they can really help with mild diseases, but most

5. Is health care free of charge in Ukraine? Do all Ukrainian people can afford
