B. Materials:
Manila Paper, Cabbage (made in paper), Marker, Cartolina
b. Explore
After the activity, the teacher will ask random students the following
questions: What makes this sentence incorrect? Why? All answers
will be accepted by the teacher, and finally reveal today’s lesson:
Tenses and Aspects of Verbs.
c. Explain
The teacher will then introduce the different tenses and aspects of
verbs by showing an infographic containing the three tenses and four
aspects of verbs. She will give a little explanation and let the
students discover more by going back to the first activity. This time,
the students will have to categorize the sentences in their respective
tenses and aspects.
d. Elaborate
After the activity, formulas and rules of the usage of tenses and
aspects in a sentence will be given by the teacher. Thereafter, the
following questions will be asked by the teacher towards her
students: What is the significance of learning the tenses and aspects
of verbs in communication? Why is it necessary to master the tenses
and aspects of verbs? All answers will be accepted by the teacher.
e. Evaluate
After the discussion, the teacher will test her students’ understanding
through an activity called “Peel Me”. In this activity, the class will be
divided into two. Each group will form a circle and will be given a
cabbage (made in paper). Everybody will sing a song and
simultaneously pass the cabbage from one person to another. When
the song is finished, the student who happened to carry the cabbage
will peel, say something, or do the task written on the paper. This
activity will determine whether the students have really learned the
lesson.
IV. Assignment
The teacher will ask the students to research and study in advance the
SUBJECT-VERB AGREEMENT.
