SEMI-DETAILED LESSON

PLAN IN ENGLISH IV

I. Objectives
At the end of the 60-minute session, the students will be able to:
a) Identify Adverbs of Place used in the sentence;
b) use Adverbs of Place in the sentence; and
c) shows importance of different usage of adverbs.

III. Procedure
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Classroom Routine
 Prayer
 Greetings
 Attendance
2. Motivation
The teacher will present a short video that contains highlighted words of
adverbs of place.

B. Lesson Proper
1. Activity
The teacher will group the class into 4 groups. Each group will choose a
leader to raise their answer as they will be provided with illustration
board and a chalk to write their answers. The teacher will present a
picture to the class which must be identified correctly. The first group to
raise their answer will receive 2 points and the rest of the group who got
the right answer will still receive 1 point. The group who got the highest
score will receive a reward.

2. Analysis
 What makes it easy for you to identify the pictures?
 How do you think your answers are correct?
 What have you noticed with the pictures?
3. Abstraction
Adverbs of Place
An adverb may describe or modify a verb, an adjective, or another
adverb.
A word that answers where is an adverb of place. Here are some
examples of adverbs of place:
there away here
everywhere behind inside
forward upward around

4. Application
With the same group, the teacher will give each group an activity sheet
that contains scrambled words. The class will arrange it to form a
sentence and identify the adverb of place.
Example: her / umbrella / place / Trish / the / near / basket.
Answer: Trish place her umbrella near the basket.
in the library outdoors at the park

IV. Evaluation
The teacher will instruct the students to get a whole sheet of paper and answer
the following:
A. Underline the adverb of place in each sentence.
1. There are many people at the park.
2. There are children playing everywhere.
3. Some boys hide behind a tree.
4. Some girls are skating inside the skating rink.
5. Others are riding their bikes around the park.
B. Complete each sentence by writing the appropriate adverb of place. Choose
your answer from the words in the box.

1. We enjoy having picnic _______________________________.


2. Children love to read books _______________________________.
3. It is nice to exercise _______________________________.
4. We can see God's creations _______________________________.
5. They enjoyed making sand castles _______________________________.

V. Assignment
The teacher will instruct the class to get their assignment notebook and write
the following to be answered at home.
Compose a short essay on your childhood experience, it must state adverbs of
place.
