Assessment in Learning
Activity 2
Integrating Assessment to Instruction
Grade Level: Grade 7

Learning Area: Mathematics (Algebra – Polynomials)

Fill-in the Objective, Learning Competency (you may refer to DEPED Curriculum Guide) provide the
assessment method; assessment criteria, assessment activity before, during and after, recording
method,

I. Objectives: -To be able to demonstrate understanding of key concepts of algebraic

expressions as applied in polynomials in one variable.
-To be able to model situations using oral, written and algebraic
methods in solving problems involving polynomials in one variable.
Learning competency: M7AL-IId-2
adds and subtracts polynomials.
M7AL-IIe-2
multiplies and divides polynomials.
II. Assessment Method: Analysis of learners’ products (written tasks, worksheets – seatwork)

III. Assessment Criteria: Knowledge: The similar terms inside the polynomials can be
added/subtracted/multiplied/divided.

Skills: Apply the four fundamental operations (addition, subtraction,

multiplication, division) on the given polynomials.

IV. Assessment activity: What will the students do?

Before: letting learners do whiteboard activity: identification of

polynomials and differentiation of polynomials from non-polynomials

During: make learners participate in discussion and do Seat work:

problems involving the four fundamental operations in polynomials

After: give learners assignment: problems involving the four

fundamental operations in polynomials

V. Recording method Using Class grid for recording learners’ scores

VI. Making Judgment Using Rubrics for checking the solutions to problem solving type of
questions

VII. Feedback Oral feedback – determine the common errors in the assignments, if
ever, and discuss those solutions during the next meeting
