I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, learners are expected to:
a. determine the different speeches according to purpose;
b. explain the different speeches according to purpose; and
c. perform an activity regarding the topic.

Based on the activity, students will discuss their output.
From their discussion, the teacher will lead them to the lesson proper by asking
pivotal questions to wit:
a. What are your bases to arrive with such answer?
b. Are these bases enough to justify your answer?
c. From your answers, what do you think is our lesson today?

Using the lesson closure, students will share insights in the lesson.
GUIDED RESPONSE
Lesson Closure
With the same group, students will perform a DEBATE and will be presented in class.
An analytic rubric will be utilized to grade the performance. See attached page for the
rubric.
IV. ASSESSMENT
Essay
Directions: Discuss the following questions clearly, substantially and briefly.
1. Discuss the different speech according to purpose. (10 pts.)
2. How do these speeches according to purpose help in an effective communication? (10 pts.)
