Schedule: Grade 7 Date:

I. OBJECTIVES
The Grade 7 students will be able to:
a) describes well-defined sets, subsets, universal sets, and the null set and cardinality
of sets.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


a. Topic: Sets: An Introduction
b. Reference: Mathematics Learner’s Material, pages (1-4) Code:M7NS-Ia-1
c. Materials: laptop, colored paper, cards

Consider the individual differences of a every student

III. PROCEDURE
A. Routinary Activities
The assigned students will do their assigned tasks respectively. The prayer leader will
lead the prayer. The class monitor will give the list of absent and excuse. The
collector of assignments will submit the papers.

B. Preparatory Activities
a. Drill
Students will be given a word and they will write their ideas about the given
word in just one word or phrase. Example of the given words Fraction,
Integers & Mathematics. Every student must write their ideas and form it in
just one word or phrase.
b. Review
c. Motivation
There will be group of words written on the board or flashed on the screen.
Students will be going to observe first the written words then they will
identify the similarities then group them and label each group.
C. Lesson Proper
a. Activity
The class will be divided into two groups. They will be group randomly.
Each group will give the definition of the given words through picking a
piece of paper in a box and decide what word does it describes. The winner
group will have additional points for the quiz.
b. Analysis
What is set? Why does set is well defined?
What do you call the group of objects?
How can you say that the set A is a subset of set B?
What is universal set?
What is null set?
What is the symbol of subset?
What is the symbol of universal set?
What is the symbol of null set?

c. Abstraction

d. Application
Students will answer some practice exercises.
Direction: Do the following exercises.
1. Let B = { 1, 3, 5, 7, 9}. List all the possible subsets of B
2. Let A = {2, 4, 6, 8}. Give the cardinality of set A

IV. EVALUATION
I. Direction: Define the following terms and give what is asked.

II. Direction: Draw a Venn diagram to show the relationships between the following pairs or groups
of set.

V. ASSIGNMENT
In a ½ crosswise write your collected information about uion set an intersection set.
