I believe that the nature of recreational activities depends from the ones doing
them. Participating in recreational activities that one treats of as an exercise, a hobby, or
maybe even a lifestyle can have them get benefits in their many aspects of their life.
Examples of recreational activities can range from those of extreme physical sports to
simple mind games of chess or classical board games.
According to the diagram, if you participate in organized sport and recreation,
then it will result to having improved physical and mental health and well-being.
Specifically, it tells that this can result into the reduction of obesity and for the
development of the cognitive function. However, the diagram also shows that all of
these came from social aspects such as having social support, networks, cohesion, and
capital. This shows that having a social body will help one become healthy. Together
with the help of one’s participation in recreation, you and your family or friends can
make it through time staying healthy.
Recreation is also defined as leisure or activity when you are not working. This
means that recreation is supposed to be stress-free and/or fun to do. Recreation can be
done solo, but as I think of the diagram, recreation gets better with more people
involved. Also, spending your leisure time with at least a bit of recreation can be more
relaxing than just resting or playing through your computers and phones.
In conclusion, recreation is something to take more seriously and carefully
especially to us teenagers who are living in a modern technological world. With
recreation, we can strive to be physically and mentally healthy without having the
stress of more work.
