ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT IN PROJECT REAL

(Replenishing the Enthusiasm on Advocating Learning through Reading and Numeracy)

I. INTRODUCTION
The pandemic has brought us many challenges not only in the economic sector of the people but also in the field of education. Many of the students in our
country have difficulty in their studies even though there is a module that has been used to cross the schooling of children at home. Many children are not taught much
by parents especially in reading training which is more necessary for students to better understand their lessons. Studies have shown that students learn to read and to
use four fundamental mathematical operations is significant in their day-to-day learning. To address the problem the principal, head teachers, and teachers of Nuestra
Senora Del Pilar Integrated school began to plan, design, and prepare a summer enrichment program.

To determine which of the primary level students will be included in the summer enrichment program. The teachers conducted an assessment using the Phil-IRI
and Project all numerates (PAN) based on the results, 152 students from the primary level participated in the program. The reading enrichment coordinator formed ten
sections to be attended by fifteen students in each section. It also provides 10 volunteer teachers who will teach students for 15 days. To fully implement the program
different orientations were conducted.

II. OBJECTIVES:
The main objective of this program is to provide an advancement program for kindergarten which is aligned with the School’s Learning Recovery Plan and
enrichment reading program for Grades 1 – 3 are imperative to improve both reading fluency and numeracy skills which in turn help them cope up with their learning
losses and gaps to be ready in the coming school year. Some of the enrichment goals were stated below.
1. To reduce the number of learners under frustration level both in reading and numeracy.
2. To improve the academic performance of incoming kinder to grade 4 learners.
3. To impart a sense of love for reading and numeracy.

III. METHODOLOGY
 Assess the learners’ reading and numeracy levels through Phil-IRI reading materials and Reading Recovery Program.
 Asked and assigned voluntary teachers who will teach for 15-days.
 Inform the parents and guardians in a meeting regarding the reading program.
 Reproduce reading materials to be utilized.
 Enrichment reading program will be conducted during summer vacation for 15 days.
 Assess learners-participants’ improvement at the end of the program.
 Connect to active stakeholder

IV. TIME FRAME

The drafting of comprehensive plan for the conduct of the program started in June 2022. The implementation of the 15-day summer enrichment program started
on July 25, 2022, and lasted until August 12, 2022, for the final evaluation of the enrichment program.

V. DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES AND STARTEGIES CONDUCTED

To increase and improve the reading ability and numeracy skills of learners, engaging activities, game-based learning and use of differentiated styles were one of
the objectives of the program. Stated below are the list of activities and strategies used during the implementation of the enrichment program.
 Alpabasa, Fuller and Marungko Approach,
 Reading of short stories,
 Letter name recognition,
 Sound syllables,
 Reading word sentences,
 Problem solving activities, and
 Flash cards

VII. INSIGHTS GAINED

Every day despite suffering hitches in preparing and teaching the pupils, there was a good result because the students involved in the enrichment program
were prepared and gained some learning skills such as reading, writing, answering the 4 fundamental operations in mathematics and above all dealing with both pupils
and teachers. With the careful planning and determination of each person involved in the enrichment program implemented by the school, a meaningful and successful
outcomes were attained.

VIII. INVOLVEMENT OF STAKEHOLDERS

Our school is truly grateful for the invaluable support and generous donations, a successful partnership with UNILAB Pediatrica, represented by Sir Luis De Mesa
Jr. and Ms. Anne Canlas, donated seven (7) boxes of vitamins for the learners. Giving school supplies for 152 pupils. Moreover, parent-participants continuously support
their children for 15-days by extending their help in the said program for monitoring and guiding the kids at home when it comes to reading and numeracy.

IX. RECOMMENDATIONS
The cooperation and exchange of different strategies in preparation and providing sufficient foundation for the advancement of students and providing
meaningful instruction to students has a good impact on children's learning. Continue to use ALPABASA especially at the primary level. Have planning for the
development and design of reading stations to meet each pupil's reading level. Continue communication with parents involved in the program and provide supplemental
reading materials to continue the reading habits of children at home.
