Upon completion of this lesson, students can:

1. Identify adjective in the sentences


2. Define a descriptive adjective
3. Differentiate common adjective and proper adjective
4. Give examples of sentences with descriptive words

II. SUBJECT MATTER

TOPIC: Descriptive Adjective

MATERIALS: Powerpoint, Projector, Laptop, Pictures

A. Preparation

B.Motivation

1. Show the pictures to the students.


2. Ask them to describe the pictures.

C. Presentation

1. Present the examples of descriptive adjective.

2. Let the students read all the examples.

D. Discussion

1. Ask them wh question ( who, how, what ).

2. Ask them to think the word that describe people, places, things or ideas.

3. Ask them what is descriptive adjective.


4.Ask them what are kinds of descriptive adjective?
a. Proper Adjective
b. Common Adjective
5. Let them differentiate the proper and common adjective.
6. Show them another examples
a. Who can tell me the descriptive words?
b. Who can identify it, is it a proper or a common adjective?
c. Which words do they describe?

E. Application

Let the students write down all the descriptive words either proper or common
adjectives in the story.

IV. EVALUATION

Encircle the descriptive words in the sentences, and draw an arrow to which this word
describes.

1. He carried a heavy stone yesterday.


2. She likes to eat sweet fruits.
3. Do not eat if your hands are dirty.
4. The monster is very strong.
5. He gave her colorful pillows.
6. The spider has long legs.
7. She baked a round cake.
8. Her son is very lazy.
9. The selfish boy does not have friend.
10. There is a tiny button on the board.

V. ASSIGNMENT

Give 5 examples of sentences using proper adjectives and 5 examples using the common
adjectives.
