 Brief History
In The Year 1940’s, this place was a part of Jones, Isabela.
Some people originated from
Laoag, Ilocos Norte came and acquired land. They
decided to follow the Addalam River. As
they visited and inspected the place, they found out it
was good enough to be cultivated.
In the year 1945, the residents began cleaning the areas
(kaingin). This place was mere
Virgin Forest so they brought their families and invite
relatives to stay and improve the place.
The Negritos who also came in this place told the
Ilocanos ancestors to name the place
PINARIPAD that means, “Raised form the creek”.

Between the years 1945 – 1950, the congressional

representative of Nueva Vizcaya,
Honorable Leon Cabarroguis made a bill for segregation
of the place Isabela accommodated by
newly created province of Quirino. Days went by… it was
declared as Province of Quirino in

the Republic of the Philippines, up to
this time Barangay Pinaripad still exists yet divided into
two (2), Pinaripad Sur and Pinaripad
Norte.

 Brief History
I

In 1987, AMPARO MANDAC assigned as the Barangay

Captain of Pinaripad, during
her brief stint they decided to divide into two (2)
Barangay, they called it Pinaripad Norte and
Pinaripad Sur. Her term ended in the year 1988 as
Barangay Captain of Pinaripad.
Finally, on 1989, BENJAMIN VALLENTE appointed as
the first Barangay Captain of
Pinaripad Sur. He reaches the term until 2007. His
eighteen years (18) in service he
accomplished five projects; Farm to Market Road to
Sitio Ginamagama, Concrete Barangay
Office, Health Center, Pavement and Improvement of
Barangay Auditorium. In the year 2007,
his term ended.

In 2008, ALEXANDER CONDAYA SR. former Barangay

Kagawad appointed as the
second Barangay Captain of Pinaripad Sur. During his
three years (3) in service, he
accomplished the Pinaripad Sur Gymnasium. His term
ended in the year 2010.

In 2010, JERRY RESPICIO former

Barangay Kagawad appointed as
the third
Barangay Captain of Pinaripad Sur.
During his service as Barangay
Captain he accomplished
four projects; Concreting the Farm
to Market Road of Sitio
Ginamagama Purok 7, Creating the
boundary of Pinaripad Sur and
Pinaripad Norte, Renovation of
Barangay Office and
Accomplished the Bridge of
Pinaripad Sur. He is the presently
Barangay Captain of Pinaripad
Sur.
