I. RATIONALE:
Comprehensive Sexuality Education is a sex education instruction method based on-
curriculum that aims to give students the knowledge, attitudes, skills, and values to make
appropriate and healthy choices in their sexual lives.

The current situation of increasing early pregnancies, and violence against women
and children in school and community has brought more attention to the need to equip
teachers with the correct information and appropriate skills that would enable them to make
responsibility decision-making and respectful behavior that will protect the learners’ health,
well-being and dignity.

To effectively address the needs of the learners for health and protection through
education, the Gender and Development has designed a Capability Development on Gender
Comprehensive Sexuality Education for Teachers to ensure that the learners are receiving
comprehensive and appropriate information that can advance gender equality and
empowerment.
