INTRODUCTION
CHAPTER
I.1 Background
Education is an activity aimed at improving human quality and is also
a form of manifestation of human culture that is dynamic and full of
development, therefore changes or developments in education are things that
should occur in line with changes in the culture of life, changes in the sense of
improving education at all levels need to be continuous. done as anticipation
future interests.
This thinking has the consequence that refining or improving
vocational secondary education to anticipate future needs and challenges
needs to be carried out continuously, in line with developments in the needs of
the business/industry world and agencies, developments in the world of work,
as well as developments in science, technology and the arts.
Education that is able to support future development is education that
is able to develop the potential of students so that they are able to face and
solve the life problems they face. Education must touch the potential
conscience and potential competence of students. The concept of education
becomes increasingly important when a person has to enter life in society and
the world of work because the person concerned must be able to apply what is
learned at school to overcome the problems faced in daily life now and in the
future . which will come.
The 2013 Vocational School Curriculum further improves the quality
of vocational high school graduates, with this curriculum it is hoped that
vocational secondary education ranks will be better able to develop the
potential of students so that when they work, independent individuals are
formed, able to utilize themselves as members of society and citizens, as part
of the environment and as servants. The One Almighty God. The curriculum
was formulated in an effort to meet the demands of changing educational
orientation.
With That is the aim of vocational secondary education so that it can
lead students to become human beings who are devoted to God Almighty, and
can also take part in competition in the business world, industrial world and
agencies. So that in the future they can live in society and can develop in
accordance with the demands of today's life.

CHAPTER III
THEORETICAL BASIS
3 .1 Definition of Refrigerator / freezer
refrigerant household appliance whose function is to absorb heat/heat in
objects/fruits, food, vegetables.
There are 4 rooms for storing different types of food, fruit and vegetables at
certain temperatures, namely:
 -18 ( 0 ' f ) freezing
 0 ( 32'f) meat storage
 4 ( 40'f ) cooling
 10 ( 50'f ) vegetable storage
Refrigerator working principle
The working principle of a refrigerator can be described as the chart in
Figure 1:

That is, starting from the compressor, when an electric current is supplied, the
compressor motor will rotate and put pressure on the refrigerant so that it changes
form into a high-pressure and high-temperature gas, then enters the condenser and
is filtered by the filter , the liquid refrigerant will be pushed into the capillary pipe
and rises to the evaporator . From the evaporator it goes down to the compressor
machine again and then through the capillary tube.
3. 2 parts of a two-door refrigerator
a) Compressor
Serves to pump refrigerant throughout the body parts of the refrigerator.
b) Condenser
Functions to change the form of refrigerant gas at sum and high pressure into
liquid form.
c) Drier / fliter
Serves to filter out impurities that may be carried away by the flow of coolant
d) evaporators
Functions to absorb heat from objects entered into the refrigerator and
evaporate the refrigerant.
e) Heater
Serves to melt ice flowers
f) Motorcycle fans
Fan motor or fan is useful for blowing wind on a two-door refrigerator. There
are two types of fans :
1). Evaporator fan motor
Serves to blow cold air from the evaporator throughout the rack ( rake s,
vegetables and fruit).
2). Condenser fan motor
This fan is placed at the bottom of the refrigerator which has a small
condenser which functions to suck or push air through the condenser and
compressor. Apart from that, it functions to cool the compressor.
g) Thermostat
Function to regulate the work of the compressor automatically based on the
temperature limits on each part of the refrigerator.
h) Overload _ Protector
This is a safety component that is located in relation to the compressor
terminal . The way it works is the same as (RELAY), namely: Connects and
cuts off electric current and functions as a protector for electrical components
due to the current produced by the compressor exceeding the normal flow
current.
i) Capillary pipe
Functions to lower or control the coolant to reduce the pressure until it
reaches a suitable level for the coolant to flow into the evaporator.
3.3 Work steps
Steps for repairing a refrigerator
1. Compressor repair process
Freon gas that is in the refrigerator is removed first by cutting the gas inlet
pipe using a pipe cutter . The pipe connected to the compressor is removed using
welding, then the compressor is removed from its seat. Tilt the compressor a little
so that the oil in it runs out, replace it with a new one of 125 cc. To put oil into the
compressor, first connect the compressor terminal to a voltage source using a
crocodile clamp, after that, close the other blow pipe with your finger and point
the measuring cup with the oil to the suction pipe which is not closed, then the oil
will automatically be sucked in . into the compressor. Then the crocodile claws
were removed and the compressor was put back in its original position.
System parts that need to be replaced and cleaned include:
The filter is removed, then the capillary pipe is installed on the valve and
10 drops of metal are added and cleaned with R22, then the oil comes out through
the return pipe, the same thing is done on the condenser pipe. Then the pipes are
connected back to their original position.
3. Vacuum
The method :
 Replace the easy filter with a new one and attach a 15 cm long
capillary tube to the new filter.
 The valve is attached to the compressor pipe.
 One of the suction pipes on the compressor pipe is connected to the
low pressure manifold using a hose.
 The manifold has 3 hose channels, 1 for the refrigerator, connecting
hose 2 to R 134 a gas and the middle/3rd channel is not used.
 The compressor turns on setting the manifold pressure at position 0
ps1
 Running manifold pressure compressor shows a number that
gradually decreases until it shows the number -30hg/ psl
 Opening the R22 gas cylinder, manifold shows the number 10 psl .
 Replacing the system , the condenser will feel hot, the filter will feel
warm, you can hear the sound of the gas moving to the evaporator and
the evaporator will start to feel cold.
 Wait until the ice flowers that appear on the evaporator are evenly
distributed.
 Check the current leading to the compressor by using the ampere
pliers and pointing to the number (0.6 amperes).
 After that, filling the gas is considered sufficient.
 The gas valve is clamped with clamping pliers or combination pliers
then closed and welded.
 Connect capillary tube to vacuum with combination pliers.
3.4 Work safety
a. Wear clothes pack
b. Using shoes
c. Use tools and materials according to their function
d. Use work steps correctly
e. Carry out work in a safe place
f. Report to the instructor/supervisor when encountering difficulties
g. Check the results of the work again before testing
h. Ensure work results
3.5 Basic Understanding of AC (Air Conditioner)
In general, the definition of AC (Air Conditioner) is a series of machines that have
the function of cooling the air around the cooling machine. Specifically, the
definition of AC (Air Conditioner) is a machine that is used to cool the air by
circulating refrigerant gas in pipes. which is pressed and sucked in by the
compressor. The reason why refrigerant gas is chosen as the circulating material is
because this material evaporates easily and its shape can change, in the form of
liquid and gas. The heat in the condenser pipe comes from refrigerant gas which is
compressed by compressor so that the material becomes hot and in the Automatic
Expantion section The pipe valve through which the refrigerant gas circulates is
reduced, so that the pressure increases and the evaporator pipe becomes cold.
3.6 Parts of AC (Air Conditioner) and Their Functions.
In Split AC there are 3 main parts that we must know, namely the Indoor
(inside), Outdoor (outside), and installation. What components are there in these 3
sections, let's discuss them together. Getting to Know the AC Split
Indoor AC Components (Inside)
The components contained in the indoor include:
1. Body indoor / Chasing
2. evaporators
3. Fan
4. Fan Motor
5. PCP Module (Sensor, Thermistor, FAN Capacitor, Electrical PCB)

Air conditioning installation In AC installation there are 2 types of installation,
namely:
1. Electrical installation (cables)
2. Refrigerant / Freon installation (Copper Pipe)
3.7 AC Maintenance Program
The parts of the AC that are cleaned are:
1.OUTDOOR
Outdoor maintenance will be carried out using a high pressure pump machine.
This is intended to ensure that the fins on the surface of the condenser are
perfectly clean to maximize the work of the condenser unit.
outdoor checking also includes checking Ampere, Voltage, Low pressure, high
pressure condenser temperature and also adding freon to the AC if the AC is not
cold or hot.
2.INDOOR
Indoor treatment will be carried out using a high-pressure pump machine and
using chemicals that are compounded with Evaforator base materials which are
able to
reduce or even eliminate mold growth, so that the cooling quality
becomes more perfect.
