 FOREWORD

All praise and thanks be to Allah SWT, who has bestowed His grace and guidance to all of us, so that the
authors can make this Field Work Practice (PKL) report. However, the authors have tried their best for the
perfection of the preparation of this report, both from the results of teaching and learning activities in
schools, as well as in carrying out work practices in the industrial world. Constructive suggestions and
criticisms are expected by the authors for perfection in writing the next report. The author realizes that
without the guidance, guidance, and support and assistance from various parties, this report could not be
completed properly. Therefore, on this occasion the author would like to express his gratitude to :
1. Mrs. Farida Izrawani Harahap as Principal of SMKN 1 Kisaran who has provided the opportunity to carry
out Field Work Practices (PKL).
2. Mr. Suhendrik & Mrs. Putri Ramadhani as supervisors of the agency who have provided guidance in
carrying out Field Work Practices (PKL).
3. Mrs. Sri Yusni SE as the Prakerin supervisor who has provided guidance and direction to the compilers at
SMKN 1 Kisaran.
4. All employees of PT. Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk.
5. All staff, teachers and employees of SMKN 1 Kisaran who have given time, place and energy to the
compilers in collecting data.
6. My beloved father and mother who always support and motivate us to always be strong and keep trying
to make things work well.
7. Friends who always provide motivation and enthusiasm in living this life so that the authors know how
important it is to be a friend and friend.

Given the lack of knowledge and preparation, the authors realize that in the preparation of this report
there are still many shortcomings and errors. So with this, the authors expect suggestions and constructive
criticism from readers for perfection in the preparation of the next final project.
 CHAPTER 1

PRELIMINARY 1. BACKGROUND OF FIELD WORK PRACTICE

Prakerin or Industrial Work Practices are carried out to train and provide teaching to students in the
relevant Industrial or Business World related to their respective expertise competencies. In addition,
internship also aims to provide knowledge in the world of work so that in the future students can compete
in an increasingly stringent industrial world as it is today, to prepare students to have technical abilities
with broad and flexible insights in the era of technological and scientific progress, improve the quality in
Vocational High Schools (SMK), as well as hone and implement the material obtained by students from
their respective schools related to their majors. Prakerin activities are one form of activity from the many
visions and missions of SMK Negeri 1 Kisaran in preparing students to enter the industrial and business
world (DI/DU) later. The industrial world and the business world certainly cannot be obtained easily,
therefore students are not only equipped with learning theory but also an understanding of the
environment they will face after graduating from school. Prakerin activities are carried out according to the
abilities or vocational skills contained in each student.
