PREFACE

Potatoes are initially popular in Spain, as they are seen to provide cheap sustenance for
the poor. But it was not long before they became in demand throughout the continent. Potatoes
are easy to grow and highly nutritious, containing: vitamins, minerals, and fiber. In 2023,
potatoes will become a popular main dish for snacks — fried potatoes and french fries. However,
there's a lack of diversion in these dishes.

Potato Mine Company has seen this opportunity to provide a potato dish that would not
just satisfy the Supertasters — people who like salty foods — but also will satisfy Chiliheads.
Potato mine has come up with a dish that does not just provide nutritious attributes, but also
bombing flavors! Satisfying both supertasters and chiliheads.

C. Industry of the Business
Potato Mine is a food business, where the majority of the products they offer are snacks
and beverages. The owners made the decision to open a food business in order to provide the
people with better foods, snacks, and drinks and to help people become more positive to fight
sickness, especially against the unhealthy lifestyle that every Filipino leads. Moreover, a lot of
unhealthy foods are offered on the street, which has a negative influence on people's diets,

owners is to provide customers with healthier versions of their preferred foods and beverages.

PRODUCTS AND/OR SERVICES

This section addresses the goods or services the company will offer, its competitive
advantages, and the cost of the goods or services provided.

A . Products

Patata Crujiente – is a Spanish word that means Crunchy Potato since the Potato dish
originated from Peru that uses Spanish as their official language. We chose this Potato dish as it
is easy to do and also tastes good. Not only good in its taste but also good in our health as it uses
potatoes that are a good source of Fibers, Vitamin C, and Antioxidants. In addition, this Potato
dish is just new to students and can be an advantage to us because it can attract customers to try
this new Potato dish.

Cooking Procedure:

● To start the procedure in cooking the potato dish, first, grab some potatoes then peel it
and slice it into dice. Boil the potatoes until it softens. Smash it firmly until it gets the
right consistency. Next, put the chopped celery, corn starch, salt and paprika. Mix it until
all the ingredients are combined proportionately.
● For the egg mixture, add salt and black pepper to the egg mixture and mix it well. On the
other hand, the Crumb mixture needs Bread crumbs, Rosemary and Eden Cheese.

“Explosion of taste in your mouth.”

8

● After mixing all of the needed ingredients, the next step is to roll the potato mixture and
slice it equally. Then, grab a fork to press the mixture and make a rectangular shape.
After that, dip it in the egg mixture. After that, put it in the crumb mixture and cover it
well. The next thing you want to do is to preheat the pan and put the right amount of oil.
Turn it into low-medium heat and then deep fry the potato and wait until it turns to
golden brown. Serve it on a plate and dip it in cheese dip or mayo.

There are initially 2 flavors of the potato dish. Cheese, and Barbecue. These are
powdered flavors added to the potato dish that depends on the cravings of the consumers.
Additionally, there are dips that they can choose to dip their snack in.
Finally, it will be served in a cup with drinks or can be sold in pieces.

Fresh Juice – as we are going to sell a fried product, students may feel thirsty after
eating. This is why we choose to also sell Fresh Juice that can ease the thirst of the customers
that is added to the serving of potato dishes.
Limonada Azul – is the Spanish term for “Blue Lemonade”. A juice blend of Blue
lemonade flavor that is truly refreshing that makes you feel relaxed when you drink it.
To make it, we need Blue Lemonade powdered juice, Ice, Lemon slices, and freshwater.
Mix the juice powder in the water thoroughly until it is well mixed. After that, put the ice into
the mixture and add the lemon slices to add more freshness to the juice.
Tè Rojo - is the Spanish term for “Red Tea”. A juice blend of Red tea lemonade flavor
that compliments the saltines of potato as it is a sweet blend of juice.
To make this fresh juice, we need Red Tea Lemonade powdered juice, Ice, and
freshwater. Mix the juice powder to the water and add the ice to make a fresh Red Tea Juice.

B. Product Costing

● Patata Crujiente (Php 7.00 per piece/ Php 39.00 per bundle) – We all know not all
students have that large amount of money from their allowances as they have to use it in
many kinds of payments, so we decided to give choices to the customers if they will buy
per piece or per cup. This price costing was chosen so that students can still afford to buy
the product and have a taste of our potato dish. Also, we can still grow money from it as
the cost is not low for us to earn money.
● Juice Blends
Red Tea (Php 5.00 per 8oz & Php 10.00 per 16oz)

“Explosion of taste in your mouth.”

9

Blue Lemonade (Php 6.00 per 8oz & 12.00 per 16oz)

We have made a choice for students to choose if they want their potato dish to have it
with drinks so that they will just add 10 pesos to their potato dish or separately they will buy a
drink varying from Red Tea that is Php 5.00 per 8oz cup and Php 10.00 per 16oz cup, and Blue
Lemonade that is Php 6.00 and Php 12.00 per 16oz cup.

C. Competitive Advantages
Our product has many competitive advantages that could stand out from other products or
services. First is that it is really a budget friendly product. Our product costs not too much so that
students can afford to buy some. We all know that nowadays thriftiness is a must because of the
higher price of goods and services. Next is that our product, specifically the Patata Crujiente, is
new to the eyes and ears of the customers. As it is new to them, they tend to look at it and try it
to have an insight about the product. Also, services and products that we offer have high quality
that we can offer to our customers and make them satisfied with us.

MARKETING PLAN
This section involves the intended target audience or potential consumers, prominent
rivals, and obstacles in establishing a market, the case for why consumers should buy our
product, marketing techniques, and the special selling point of our goods

A. Target Market
Chiliheads(people who love spicy dishes) -This snack is really suitable for the ones who
are likely to choose spicy foods and have cravings for it. Additionally, they can still enjoy the
taste of the Potato dish because of the flavors compliments to each other creating a savory, a bit
of spicy flavor and not a devouring hotness to the mouth.

Youths and Students - Students and younger people tend to like fried savory snacks like
potato fries and other fried foods more frequently. Because the primary product is a fried potato
dish, the target market in this instance is more suited to students. Additionally, because the
market is located in a school, most of the patrons will be students. Today's pupils are often
pragmatic when it comes to product prices. One of the characteristics of students is their
knowledge, which is well-known. Consumers should think about the things they are buying as
well as any potential health benefits and risks before making a purchase. Before this happens, the
meal that Potato Mine is providing would be healthy since the oil that will be used will be plant
based as it is more healthier because of its unsaturated fat.

B. Competitors
The competitors of Potato Mine are other businesses which suggest similar products such
as drinks and snacks. Businesses like Foodry, Bitezip, Food Boost, Yummy Inn, Pan to Plate, the
given names are the possible competitors of Potato Mine since most stores sell healthier or
nutritious products. Customers already know and certainly trust these existing businesses for the
reason that they guarantee customer satisfaction. The only thing that distinguishes us from our
competitors is our unique product. It might be a potato dish but it's most rich in vitamin C, which
is an antioxidant. The outcome products they offer have the same concept with the products of
Potato Mine. However, the difference is that the competitors offer their products via stationary
stores or street stalls while Potato Mine will operate via online and a small retail establishments
business which will operate in online websites and small shops with an open front from public
places. With online and stall, the business will gather customers not just from one place, but
many other places, and a best way to take your business directly to the consumers. This means a
considerable opportunity for greater income is created. In addition, Potato Mine's products are
more nutritious than the products offered by the competitors because the products are made up of
natural goods and vegetables which are rich in nutrients that other snacks and drinks cannot
produce.

The concept of the company itself is to improve or innovate on the typical foods that
people eat for snack time. Snacks and beverages make up the majority of Potato Mine's product
offerings in the food industry.

The owners decided to start a food company to give the public a choice to healthier snack
and drinks rather than what they often to buy in the streets that may cause bad effects to their
health. There are many bad food options available on the street, which has an adverse effect on
people's diets or chronic diseases in connection to their digestive system and also may affect
other body organs. In contrary to this, Potato Mine offer healthier snack option because of that it
uses natural ingredients and veggies that are rich in nutrients.
