 NARRATIVE REPORT ABOUT THE SCHOOL LEARNING ACTION CELL (SLAC) OF
TUMALIM NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
September 25,2018

Learning is evident if a teacher can manage his/her classroom effectively. Thus, Tumalim NHS
conducted its third School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) entitled “Classroom Management”. The
speaker on this third SLAC session was Mrs. Maria Loisa A. Cabingan, Grade 10 Adviser.

The session started with a prayer followed by an AVP of the National Anthem. The speaker
opened her session with an activity named “The Misbehaved Game” . the team need to pass the
object while the music was playing. The winner who could spell the word CLASSROOM
MANAGEMENT would be declared the winner.

Mrs. Cabingan pointed out that teacher’s way of managing his/her classroom was different
from others due to the following reasons: teaching style, student’s population, personality/ attitudes
and etc.

She also gave strategies to effectively manage his/her classroom like: using non-verbal cues,
engage students in low profile intervention and filling out the period with lots of activities. She also
stressed that teachers should be consistent in terms of their rules and regulations applied in the
classroom.

To highlight her point, she played two videos showcasing how an effective classroom
management is done and its effect in the learning process.
