What is your role or contribution to our country’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
(DRRM) Plan?
Student’s Answer:

A disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (DRRM) is for people to strengthen their resiliency. It also
aims to reduce or avoid disaster risk, be it from natural or human-caused disasters. Every country has
DRRM as it saves lives, hence its importance to the country. As we live, we also have roles to fulfill to
achieve risk reduction.

As an individual, it is essential to be knowledgeable about specific events. Being knowledgeable helps us

to plan how to save ourselves and others as well. We must be knowledgeable to know the measures of
risk to take action. This knowledge must also be passed on to other people. It will only be achieved if you
inform them in any way; social media is an excellent platform for this.

We are the most responsible for our own selves; thus, we need to know how to protect ourselves. It is
important to understand what DRRM is for us to be kept from harm. Additionally, removing or
reintroducing crucial weaknesses guarantees that our emergency response does no harm.
