Essay 5

The long-term goals that I want to accomplish in the first few months upon returning home after
the CCI program.
Professional and/or educational goals.
My educational background was English education. I had a lot of experiences in sharing the
knowledge about English for a lot of people. When the first time I took this major, I never
thought that I would really love this major and I would really love the children.
At the time, I decided to take the challenge to teach kindergarten students. I almost gave up to
teach them. I didn’t have any experiences but the thing that I did was sharing about the problems
I got with the teachers at the school. I could solve the problems and I really love to teach the
kindergarten students.
The professional goals that I want to accomplish are having my own free kindergarten school. I
have a dream that someday I will have my own kindergarten school. Where every students are
from every circles, they can study at the school. I will give my best to them. They are started
from the facilities, the knowledge and the teachers. It is why I really need this CCI program to
get more knowledge about the early childhood education as support system to reach my dream
someday.
Personal development goals
When I was younger, my decision was at times a challenge to my educational endeavors. I often
found it difficult to choose one thing, as my interests are so varied, and I wanted to be able to
explore many avenues of life, and not limit my options. As I have grown older, I have been
fortunate to have experienced working in several different industries, and learning about my
strengths and weaknesses. The point here that time brings has also brought an ability to weed out
what isn’t right, and focus on the possibilities that making decision can bring.
The personal development that I want to accomplish after joining this CCI program are
becoming the person that can bring more benefit to the people around me, learning about the
characters from different people from various countries that I will meet in the program, and
becoming more independent person because I will go far from home and survive by myself.
Means it will trigger me to be more independent one.
Sharing what I have learned and giving back to my local community after the CCI
program:
I will take early childhood education as the field of study in this CCI program. It will focus on
early childhood education and development, special education and early and school-age care
specialist. The three concentration areas that I will take in this program will give me more
knowledge to be early childhood teacher.
I will try to build the kindergarten teacher community in my local area. It will become the place
for every kindergarten teachers to share their problems that they get from the school and we will
solve it together. I will sharing my knowledge and my experience about everything from the CCI
program. The community will become a good place for the teacher to share.
How will the five pillars of the CCI program and my short-term goals help me to achieve
my long-term goals?
The five pillars from the CCI program are academics, cultural exchange, service learning,
internships and leadership and action planning.
For instance from academic side; I will learn about management class for kindergarten students
and it will help me in my long term goals to build my own kindergarten school. I believe that I
will get more knowledge during participating the CCI program that will support my dream to
have the kindergarten school.
From cultural exchange; meeting the new people from various countries will give me chance to
exchange about my culture and their culture. It will support my long-term goal to mingle with
the new from various country. It will ease me to socialize with the new one.
From service learning; I have a dream to make a community in my local area. The community is
for the kindergarten students or the people who concern with the children education. From this
program, I will get the knowledge about it. And I will share in my community as the media about
service learning.
My short-term goals that I have mentioned previously will support my long-term goals because it
is related and it can be done together.
