PROJECT PROPOSAL

I. Title of the Project:

An event Proposal for Foundation Day – Acoustic Band

II. Type of Activity:

The Acoustic Band will be a part of the Festival of Talents, which will be

held on February 24, 2023, to commemorate Tanauan Institute's Foundation

Day. The purpose of this project is to highlight the creativity of TI students with

music of culturally relevant theme.

III. Department Involved: Education

IV. Project Leaders and Coordinators:

1. Mark Giron Bautista – Manager and Coordinator; Mr. Bautista will be In-

charge in sourcing talents and overseeing the remainder of the pre-event

activities, such as practice, and the performance proper.

2. Patricia Dayne Javier – Music coordinator; Keyboardist

3. Edmar Ricardo – Music Coordinator; Vocalist

4. Jessica Bilog – General coordinator of the components for Festival of

Talents

V. Total Cost of the Project:

Resources The resources needed for this performance are the following:

A. The Talents

Once the proposal is approved, a search for vocalists and musicians

will begin. The number of band members, however, has not yet been
determined because it will depend on the potential of the prospective

members' talents. Just having two (2) or more vocalists, ideally ones

that can play beatbox, two (2) guitarists, a (1) pianist, and a (1)

drummer is preferable.

B. The Instruments

Although having one's own instrument is preferred, if a band member

doesn't, the band manager should borrow/request one from the

education department and/or its students.

Budget If there are band expenses, the SGB will finance such.

VI. Rationale of the Project

The DNA of the Filipino has always been deeply ingrained with music. The

fact that we like singing, whether you can or cannot, is evidence of this. For the

reasons in the first two sentences, the Acoustic Band will be the highlight of

Festival of Talents. It goes without saying that it doesn't require as many days of

practice and/or other resources, such money, as the other components (Folk

Dance/Sabayang Pagbigkas/Field Demo) of the event do.

VII. Objectives

A. Promote the maximum level of artistic appreciation through music.

B. Develop understanding music as a cultural representation and expression

in a creative and intuitive way.

C. Give students the chance to engage in cultural and social experiences

through music, where they will actively get mentoring and internships that

will help them prepare for professional careers.

VIII. Description of the Project, Strategies and Methods

This proposal seeks approval for A.) the formation and B.) the performance

presentation of a would-be acoustic band that will debut on the day of celebration

of Tanauan Institute’s Foundation Day. There will be at least two (2) or more

vocalists, two (2) guitarists, one (1) pianist, and one (1) drummer in the acoustic

band, which hasn't yet been given a name.

First, there will be a search of talents, through auditions.

Second, rehearsing for the performance will be held on the Tanauan Institute

campus during the period that the band manager and the superiors will agree on.

It is preferred that the band practices every Friday and Saturday of the week,

lasting at least 5 hours or longer as necessary.

Finally, and most crucially, the group will perform songs with themes relating to

Philippine culture. The set list has not yet been decided because the band

intends to consult with Mr. Joel Luna for advice and recommendations. The

setlist is to be performed in either asap-sessions (with monologue) or mash-up

style. In any case, the playlist below is recommended and is probably going to be

performed;

PLAYLIST A: RETRO (indie-folk & pop)

 VST, Asin, Celeste Legaspi, Coritha, Etc.

PLAYLIST B: CONTEMPORARY (indie-pop & Pop, & Ballad)

 Moira, Adie, Morisette, Jack Tabudlo, Etc.

PLAYLIST C: Recent Times Nostalgia (Pinoy hip hop & pop rock & pop)

 Kamikazee, Mayonnaise, Sexbomb, Andrew E, Parokya ni Edgar,

Hambog ng Sagpro, etc.

IX. Financial Plans/ Sources of Fund

As has been stated above, if there are band expenses, the SGB will finance such.
