Pursuant to Clause7.1, we will instruct as follows:

1) When concrete was discharged from agitator truck for Diaphragm wall, the lump of the cement was
sometimes found. The diameter of the cement lump is from approximately 5cm to 30cm.This is the
phenomenon, which was often seen from the beginning of the D-wall construction. Though Engineer has
issued verbal instruction many times the above phenomenon has not improved at all. You are requested
to submit the investigation of the above phenomenon and countermeasure.
2) Sieved fine aggregate and un-sieved fine aggregate should be kept separately, however there is no
partition to separate at fine aggregate stock bin. Contractor should make a proper separation to avoid
mixing of both fine aggregate. Contractor also should provide enough capacity of the sieving machine to
avoid un-sieved fine aggregate using
3) Quarry sand should be mixed or spray water before using to prevent becoming lump that is probably a
part of the cause of the cement lump.
4) The variation of the compressive strength at 28days is very big for P79b. Some cylinders have not
satisfied specification’s requirements. You are requested to submit the reason and countermeasure of it.
