Greetings of peace and joy!

The Department of Education (DepEd), under its core value Makakalikasan, supports the
national government’s efforts in protecting and conserving the environment through the National
Greening Program. The DepEd has two programs that work side-by-side to be implemented in
schools. The Gulayan sa Paaralan Program established through DepEd Memorandum No. 293, s.
2007, and the School Inside a Garden (SIGA) launched through DECS Memo No. 77, s. 1995.
Anent to this, Monte Alegre Elementary School, through this memorandum, is reviving the
SIGA Program through a search by grade level parents started last September 15, 2023. The SIGA
Program focuses primarily on establishing schools inside gardens featuring mostly indigenous and
endemic trees and flowering plants—making campuses nationwide green and colorful.

The program also aims to:

a. promotes the creation of nurseries for indigenous and endemic trees in school that will
serve as a laboratory for learners;
b. strengthens the integration of environmental education in the elementary curriculum.
Regarding to this, our school are looking generous stakeholders to be one of the sponsors
for the following prizes;
1st Prize- P3,000.00
2nd Prize- P2,000.00
3rd Prize -P 1,000.00
6 consolation prizes -P500.00
The winners will be awarded on the school Christmas Program on December 14, 2023. Rest
assured that all your donations and pledges are properly accounted.
