LESSON PLAN IN PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

For CHILDREN with INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY

I. Objective:
To identify the different parts of the body
II. Subject Matter:
A. Identifying the different parts of the body

B. Curriculum Guide for Intellectual Disability

C. Printed pictures of the different parts of the body, cut-out body parts

III. Procedures:
A. Activity
1. Drill
Let pupils sing the song, “Ulo, Abaga…”
2. Presentation
Post a picture of a boy/girl that has no body parts.
Ask pupils, what are missing in the picture?
Encourage pupil to tell something about the picture.
Teacher acknowledges the responses.

B. Analysis
Guide pupils to pay attention to the pictures.
As the teacher, brings out the cut out parts of the body,
Ask: What do you call this body part?
How many of this part we have in our body?
Continue until all the body parts are completely attached.
C. Abstraction
The different parts of the body are head, shoulders, chest, arms, legs, knees and feet.

D. Application:
Distribute the activity cards to the pupils.
Group work: In each group, there are two pictures of missing body parts.
They will label the pictures with the words provided.
The group who will finish the faster, gains a point.

IV. Evaluation:
Identify the different parts of the body.
Match the picture to its name.
