 born on November 5, 1883 in Bulacan


 He studied music composition and
harmony at Liceo de Manila
 He passed away on October 16, 1952,
after which a posthumous award
honored him with the title
“Outstanding Composer.”

Buencamino’s compositions include:

3) Collar de Sampaguita
4) Maligayang Bati
5) Prinsesa ng Kumintang

2. FRANCISCO S. SANTIAGO (1889-


1947)

The next one is Francisco S.

 PhD was born on January 29, 1889, in


Sta Maria, Bulacan
 He is known as the “Father of the
Kundiman” and belongs to the
“Triumvirate of Filipino Composers.”

3. NICANOR S. ABELARDO (1893-


1934)

For our 3rd Composer please read


Harriane.
 born in San Miguel de Mayumo,
Bulacan on Febuary 7, 1893.
 “He is one of the “Triumvirate of
Filipino Composers”
 He died on March 21, 1934

His best-known compositions include:


1) Mutya ng Pasig
2) Nasaan ka Irog
3) Cavatina for Violoncello
4) Magbalik ka Hirang

 was born on December 26, 1894, in


Quiapo Manila
 He is the first National Artist for
Music
 He came to be known as the “Father of
Philippine Impressionist Music” A
characteristically impressionist work is
his piano composition Malikmata
(transfiguration)
 He passed away on January 29, 1980.

Other works of Molina include orchestral

5. HILARION F. RUBIO (1902-1985)

 A composer, music teacher, conductor,
and clarinetist, he created substantial
works for the orchestra.
 He served as conductor for opera,
ballet, dance recitals, and movie music.
