‫ماهو القانون؟ ‪What is law?/‬‬

‫‪Law is the body of general rules and principles regulating human conduct in‬‬
‫‪society, the obedience to which is enforced by a supreme authority.‬‬

‫القانون هو جمموعة من القواعد العامة واملبادئ اليت تنظم سلوك اإلنسان يف اجملتمع‪ ،‬وااللتزام هبذه القواعد تفرضها‬

‫سلطة عليا‪.‬‬

For a rule to be law, three conditions are be required:

1- it must be general
‫عامة‬

2- it should regulate human conduct in society

3- it should be enforced by a supreme authority

The law is divided into two main branches: public law and private law

1- public law / common law :

✓ definition of public law:
 Public law is a set of legal rules that regulate the relation between the state
and individuals or between the state and public authorities and determine
the powers and responsibilities of each.

The state :‫الدولة‬

Individuals :‫األفراد‬

Public authorities: ‫العامة‬

2- private law :
✓ Difinition of private law:
Private law is a body of legal rules that regulate relations between individuals,
or between individuals and the state not as an authority holder, but as a private
person.
Body of legal rules: ‫جمموعة من القواعد القانونية‬

Authority holder : ‫صاحب السلطة‬

Private person: ‫ فرد غري حكومي‬/‫شخص عادي‬
