2. PURPOSE

2.1 The Purpose of this document is to explain the measurement of Full Thread Length.

3. PERSONS AFFECTED

3.1 This document is applicable to all:


3.1.1 All Tenaris Premium Connections Manufacturing Services Personnel.
3.1.2 Facilities licensed to thread TenarisHydril connections.

5. DEFINITIONS AND ABBREVIATIONS

5.1 Definitions and Abbreviations are defined in the most current revision of TenarisHydril document
TSH-GP-00.0001.

5.2 Full Thread Length: The Minimum Full Thread Length (LC) is the minimum length of complete
form threads, measured parallel to the pipe axis, from the face of the pin.

6. RESPONSIBILITIES

6.1 Responsibilities are defined in the most current revision of TenarisHydril document
TSH-GP-00.0002.

7. PERSONNEL QUALIFICATION

7.1 Personnel qualification is defined in the most current revision of TenarisHydril document
TSH-GP-00.0003.

8. PROCEDURES

Dimensional or visual inspection is performed in accordance with the requirements identifed on the
inspection report.

8.1 Inspection
8.1.1 Place the caliper on the face of pin and extend the anvil parallel to the pipe axis at the
distance mentioned in the IR and/or Drawing, verify that all the thread inside this interval
are fully formed threads with a complete crest.

8.1.2 When turns are specified in the Inspection Report they shall begin in the Full Form Thread
start and finish where the incomplete threads begin.

8.2 Acceptance / Rejection Criteria


The Minimum Full Thread Length (LC) is acceptable if the measured length of full crested threads
is equal to or greater than the minimum length defined on the IR. In some cases it is allowed to
have a specified number of black threads (partially or completely), please refer to the appropriate
IR and/or Drawing.

8.3 Records
The result of these inspections shall be recorded on the IR.
