TEACHING AND LEARNING STRATEGIES


1. Pupils work in pairs to discuss whether they have been to any world cup tournament for any sports.
PRE-LESSON
2. A few pairs share their discussion with the class. (Observation)
3. Pupils receive a worksheet and read the emails between Jia Li and her friend Malini.
4. Pupils work in pairs to answer 2 comprehension questions.
5. Pupils discuss the answers as a class. (Oral)
6. Pupils change 3 questions into indirect questions.
LESSON 7. Pupils discuss the answers as a class.
DEVELOPMENT 8. Pupils imagine they are Malini and that they have to write an email to their father to ask to pick them up.
9. Pupils plan a draft of about 2 paragraphs using common phrases for requests and suggestions. (Writing)
10. Pupils exchange their drafts with their partners for peer feedback.
11. Pupils write an email of about 100 words to their father requesting to be picked up.
12. A few pupils read aloud their emails to the class.
