OBJECTIVE 1.2.3 Understand with support longer simple narratives on a range of familiar
topics.
TEACHING Pre-lesson: Pupils share their thoughts about the meaning of ‘weather forecast’.
ACTIVITIES Teacher asks pupils where they can find the weather forecast.
Lesson delivery:
1. Pupils refer to Activity 1 in textbook page 99. Teacher asks pupils if they know
what the images mean. Pupils match the images to the words in the box.
2. Teacher introduces pupils to the compass and the parts in it. Pupils look at the
map in the textbook and identify the places based on the compass direction.
3. Pupils refer to Activity 2. Pupils copy the table into their exercise books.
4. Pupils listen to audio 3.19 and fill in the blanks.
5. Teacher pre-teaches the word ‘coast’ while pointing to the coastline.
6. Teacher refers to Activity 3. Pupils listen to audio 3.19 again and answer the
questions in their exercise books.
Post-lesson: Teacher and pupils discuss the answers.

Success Criteria
Pupils can:
1. read and match at least 5 phrases correctly.
2. listen and answer at least 3 questions correctly.
