II. SESSION OUTLINE
Session Title: “My Body, My Rule”

Session Objectives Learners are expected to:


a. Define body image and sexuality.
b. Describe the impact of media on perceptions of body image and sexuality.
c. Promote and encourage perception of body image and sexuality using social
media.

Key Concepts:  Body image is how we feel about ourselves physically and how we think
others see us.
 Sexuality is often thought of a sexual orientation - whether you are
heterosexual, lesbian, gay, bisexual, etc…
 Body image is part of sexuality - how we feel about our bodies.
III. TEACHING STRATEGIES
Component Duration Activities and Procedures

Introduction and Activity: ZUMBA entitled “Girl in the Mirror”
Warm Up 10 mins Instruction: Students will dance.

Activity: “Describe Me”


Instruction: Students will prepare a 1 whole sheet of paper and
with their name written on it. They will pass a piece of
paper with a description on it to the one sitting beside
her or him in a counterclockwise manner.
Concept Exploration Activity: “Show and Tell”
20 mins Instruction: Teacher will post some pictures about body image
and sexuality and students will describe each pictures.
Processing:
1. What is the picture all about?
2. How do you define Body Image? How about sexuality?

 Body image is how we feel about ourselves physically


and how we think others see us.
 Sexuality is often thought of a sexual orientation -
whether you are heterosexual, lesbian, gay, bisexual,
etc…
 Body image is part of sexuality - how we feel about our
bodies.

Activity: “Watch Me!”


Instruction: The Teacher will present a video clip about body
image and sexuality.

Processing:
1. What are the insights that you have learned from the video?
2. Do you have similar experience from them?
Valuing/Wrap up Activity: “Express yourself”
10 mins Instruction: Students will make a self - declaration in a bond
paper.

Processing:
1. How do you view yourself?
2. What are the factors you have considered in viewing yourself
in such way?
Reflective Journal Activity: “Post It!”
10 mins Instruction: Students will create a public post on Facebook about
their advocacy about positive body image and sexuality.
