 TERMS AND CONDITIONS
(These terms are integral to and forms part of the contract of PM, Calibration and Technical Support Services
offered by Cairnhill Metrology).

1. Standard Hourly Rates for general equipment technical services are RM200 per hour, and for Super-
Accuracy equipment (less than 1um), laser and X-ray based equipment – RM250 per hour.

2. ISO IEC17025 Calibration: two methods are recognised - 1) Factory Method Calibration with
Accuracy Optimisation (pre-adjustment accuracy verification, preventive maintenance and clean-
up, machine accuracy optimisation via mechanical, electrical and/or software adjustments and Final
Calibration against traceable artefacts with computation of Expanded Uncertainty (per ISO GUM,
1995), or 2) Calibration against traceable standards with expression of Expanded Uncertainty for
Accuracy Certification.

3. Initial Inspection: Our quotations are based on the premise of equipment being in good operating
condition. An initial inspection, separately chargeable, is required for all machines not purchased
from Cairnhill, and for machines which have not been serviced for 15 months or longer. An
inspection report will be provided plus recommendations for replacements or repairs, if required.

4. Repair Jobs shall be quoted separately and is not part of the above scope of work.

5. Priority Response: entitles customers to receive priority for all service requests, with a goal of
attendance at customer's site within the 2nd working day of receiving a request. It does not include
the actual costs and time of troubleshooting, repair and spare parts. Overtime work if required is
chargeable at overtime surcharge rates. Cairnhill reserves the right to decline offering Priority
Response for customers who are located far away from Cairnhill offices.

6. Break down during Calibration: If during the calibration procedure, the equipment fails, due to
faults of an intermittent nature that may not show on initial inspection, calibration would be
suspended, and the fault troubleshooted. Upon finding the fault, a repair quotation shall be issued
to the customer. If customer decides not to proceed with the repair, the calibration charge will be
prorated to actual time already spent.

7. Spare Parts requiring replacement shall be quoted and charged separately to customer at the
prevailing list prices.

8. Overtime Surcharge: Our normal working hours are 9.00am to 6.00pm, Mondays to Fridays.
Overtime work is subject to the following surcharge: 50% from 6.00pm to midnight on weekdays,
and 100% after midnight to 6.00am and for all work on Saturdays, Sundays & Public Holidays.
This overtime surcharge applies for hourly work as well as for contract work per the above schedule.

9. Transport, Travel & Accommodation: Car transport will be charged based on the return distance
from Cairnhill Metrology offices to the job site depending on location. Where overseas travel is
required, airfares, hotel accommodation and per diem expenses are reimbursable.

10. Outstation Travel: Actual travel time is chargeable for outstation jobs at half the Standard hourly
rates.

11. Limitation of Liability: Cairnhill Metrology shall not be held responsible for any consequential loss
or damages that may arise as a result of any work or services rendered in conjunction with this
Contract. The maximum liability in all cases shall be limited to the value of this Contract.
