Session CVC –at family Subject and Time: English-Reading

Session The children are expected to:
Objectives: Identify and Be familiar with CVC –at family words.
Read words under CVC–at family
Develop appreciation and enjoyment in reading CVC –at family words.
Motivation
Full Refresher- Coloring of pictures of CVC –at Family Group 1-Full Refresher
Developing pupils - Picture puzzle- the pupils will complete the puzzle word
using the CVC –at family words. Then they will tell the name of each pictures.
Group 2-Developing
Emerging – Group 3 Do the picture puzzle and they will put names under each
pictures on their own.
During Reading-
The pupil will show first the short video about the cat to introduce the CVC
word (-at family).
She will also conduct a short discussion about the story.
40 minutes Full Refresher –Group 1with word picture handout that they can trace the words
and color it
10 minutes
Choral reading of CVC –at family words
Full Refresher-Group 1 guided by the teacher using pictures and sounding
Emerging –Group 3 They will read short story with CVC –at family
Developing – Group 2

Wrap Up 10 minutes Consolidation Activity
The teacher will ask “What is the ending of the words we read today?
-at family
For full refresher Group 1they will point to a picture that they can read. The
pictures will be available for them to get and read.
For developing Group 2 they can tell their answer orally.
For emerging pupils Group 3they will give their own CVC words (–at family)
