participate in any activity and
recitation.
B. Review
We will be having a short review about
our topic yesterday. We have a game
named who am I?
All you need to do is guess what shapes
or polygon are being described based on
our topic yesterday okay?

1. I am a 3 sided polygon with “Yes ma’am”

congruent sides.
2. I have one pair of parallel sides.
3. All my sides are congruent and no “1. Equilateral triangle
right angles. 2, Trapezoid
4. I am a 3 sided polygon with 2 3. Rhombus
congruent sides. 4. Isosceles Triangle
5. My 4 sides are equal. All my sides 5.Square “
form a right angle.

C. Presentation

Now, class I have here some pictures and tell me

how many sides all the things or objects that I
will present to you okay?
‘Yes ma’am”

So class how many sides are in this objects? Can

we count?
“The first object has 5 sides mam”
“The second object has 6 sides ma’am”
Now do you have any idea what will be our topic “The third object has 7 sides ma’am”
for today base on the objects that we count the
sides?

“Mam I think that our lesson for today is all

Okay, so now we will be going how to draw and about 5 or more sided polygons”
name the different polygons with 5 or more
sides.

Lesson Proper

Our lesson for today is all about name

and draw polygons with 5 or more sides.

At the end of our lesson the student will

be able to:

1. Identify 5 or more sided

polygons.
2. Describe the characteristic of
different objects that has 5 or
more sided polygons.
3. Find enjoyment in drawing 5 or
more sided polygons.

1. Presentation
Now, class do you have any idea how many are “Yes mam, Polygons has no maximum side
because it can have infinite sides”
the maximum sides of a polygon?

Okay! Thank you!

Always remember class that a polygon can have

infinite sides.

So now we will focus in naming and drawing 5

up to 8 sided polygons.

Now class, can you count the side of this

polygon? and tell me how many sides are in
there Jem?
“Yes mam, this polygon has 5 sides mam”

Okay! Correct!
Do you have any idea of the name of this 5 sided
polygon?
“Pentagon mam”
So we will be going to draw a pentagon
(teacher draw 5 sided shape)
Okay class this is the example of pentagon
shape.

Now, I have here objects and you will tell me

what are the objects that has a pentagon shape.
“Okay mam”

“The oranges and the signage are the pentagon”

Okay correct! How about the ball? Why it is not

“Because it has no sides”
a pentagon?
Okay correct!

Let’s now move on to other polygon.

“Now can you count its side Althea”

“Yes mam, there are 6 sides mam”
Okay correct!

Do you have any idea what is the name of this

polygon class?
“Hexagon mam”

So we will be going to draw a hexagon

(teacher draw 6 sided shape)
Okay class this is the example of hexagon shape.

Now, I have here objects and you will tell me

what are the objects that has a hexagon shape.

“The crochet and the clock are the hexagon”

Okay! Correct! How about the door?

“It’s not a hexagon mam because its side is
Okay! Very good! only 4 and the hexagon has 6 sides.

Now, let’s move on to the next polygon

“Now can you count its side Love joi?”

“Yes mam, there are 7 sides mam”
Okay correct!

Do you have any idea what is the name of this

polygon class? “Heptagon mam”

So we will be going to draw a heptagon.

(teacher draw 7 sided shape)
Okay class this is the example of heptagon
shape.

Now, I have here objects and you will tell me

what are the objects that has a heptagon shape.

“The coin and the orange sign are the

heptagon”

Okay! Correct! How about the chips?

“It’s not a heptagon because it has only 3 sides
and the heptagon has 7 sides”
Okay! Very good!
Let’s move on to the last polygon that we will
tackle for today

Can you count the side Janah?

Okay! Correct! “Yes mam, there are 8 sides”

Do you have any idea what is the name of this

polygon class?

“Octagon mam”
So we will be going to draw an octagon.
(teacher draw 8 sided shape)
Okay class this is the example of octagon shape.

Now, I have here objects and you will tell me

what are the objects that has an octagon shape.

“The plate and the clock are the octagon”

Okay correct! How about the last picture?

“It’s not octagon because it has only 4 sides

Okay Very good!
and an octagon has 8 sides”
Do you have any question? Any clarification?

Okay! If you don’t have any question let’s try if (students ask their questions if there are any)
you really understand our discussion today.
Can you draw the different polygons that had
been discussed?

“Yes mam”
2. Training Skills
Now can you draw the following polygons.
1. Heptagon
2. Pentagon
3. Hexagon
4. Octagon

(The teacher will ask students to share their

answers)

Thank you, Everyone!

Excellent! It seems that you really understand

our lesson.

D. Generalization

Again class what do you call the polygon

with 5 sides?
How about 6 sides? 7 sides? 8 sides? “Pentagon”
“Heptagon, Hexagon and Octagon”
Love, Janah, Ruzelle, Jem, Hamlet,
Althea, Liene, Maika, Kimberly, Ruby,
Cristine?

E. Evaluation

Name the different polygon and put how

many are the sides based on the polygon.

“It has 7 sides and its heptagon”

“It has 6 sides and its hexagon”

“It has 5 sides and its pentagon”

“It has 8 sides and its octagon”

V. ASSIGNMENT:
1. Name some objects in your house, school and surrounding which are 5-8 sided polygons.
2. Encircle the Polygons. Explain why the others are not polygon.
