A. Preparation and settling 15 mins Pre-Reading Activities


45 mins -Spelling, tongue twisters, Song or chant related to the story.
-Reading exercises like basic sight words reading, long
vowel sounds
-Showing pictures about the story and let the pupils guest
what will happen in the story.

-Brief relaxation exercises for a reading mindset

B. Dedicated Reading Time 50 mins During Reading

Activity Silent Reading


Materials:
xerox copy of the story “Goldilocks and the 3 bears”,
pictures of the characters in the story.

This activity may be alternately combined with choral


reading, or readers’ theater.

C. Reflection and Sharing 40 mins


Activity:
Sharing of ideas facilitated by the teacher on what the
learners understand from the story read.
Materials: Pictures and flashcards

Brief discussion on the importance of reading.


Answering questions about the story.

D. Journal Writing/Wrap -up 30 mins.


Activity: Making Journal
Materials: Bond paper and color

-The teacher will ask questions about their reading


experiences.
Children will answer the questions.

-Who is your favorite character in the story? Why? (Journal)
