A simile is a figure of speech and type of


metaphor that compares two different things using
the words “like” or “as.”

The purpose of a simile is to help describe one


thing by comparing it to another thing that is
perhaps seemingly unrelated.

EXAMPLE:
1. "He is as busy as a bee,"
2. "I am as snug as a bug in a rug”
3. “You were as brave as a lion”
4. “They fought like cats and dogs”
5. “He is as strong as an elephant”
