Artificial Intelligence influences learning outcomes, student engagement, and overall academic

performance.

The generational peek advancement of technology has brought about the internet, in

which Artificial Intelligence or AI websites have become accessible to all users around the globe.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the ability of machines to replicate or enhance human intellect, such

as reasoning and learning from experience. Artificial intelligence has been used in computer

programs for years, but it is now applied to many other products and services. For example, some

digital cameras can determine what objects are present in an image using artificial intelligence

software. In addition, experts predict many more innovative uses for artificial intelligence in the

future, including smart electric grids. (Abhishek 2022) Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become

increasingly prevalent in various aspects of society, including education. In the field of Science,

Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Artificial Intelligence technologies are

being integrated into educational settings to enhance learning experiences and improve task

completion. However, advancement of artificial intelligence has provided repetitive information

that makes it perceptible with teachers and others, also, a mass number of Students have been

relying on AI chatbots which show no intellectual usage. AI has become a prominent vehicle for

human intelligence in dealing with big data, increasing an understanding of the brain-computer

interface.

Nonetheless Artificial Intelligence chatbots have a series of concerns, including online

testing security, plagiarism, and the digital literacy gap, and AI-induced anxiety were identified.

Furthermore, potential advantages like streamlined enrollment, improved student services,

teaching enhancements, research aid, and increased student retention were highlighted.

Conversely, risks such as privacy breaches, misuse, bias, misinformation, decreased human

interaction, and accessibility issues were identified (Kennedy Modugu 2023).

Faculty members of Higher Education institution (HEI’s) are responsible for regulating

balance to its accord, they are encouraged to use Artificial Intelligence tools such as ChatGPT to

mitigate risks of academic fraud. In addition, Students, Educators, adults, etc. Should be aware of

the effects that Artificial Intelligence chatbots provide especially, considering how widespread it

became in our society. Students may benefit from reading this paper by being aware of the

notable backlash of Artificial Intelligence chatbots to our educational sector. (Juan Dempere

2023)

Statement of the Problem

The aim of the study is to explore the impact of Artificial Intelligence on how all the

STEM students finish their task in an easy way, as students complete their academic tasks using

Artificial Intelligence affects the overall learning experience.

Specifically, the study aims to answer the following.

1. How does Artificial Intelligence help a student to overcome their homework?

2. How do Artificial Intelligence benefit or not benefit STEM students on doing their school

activities

3. In what ways does excessive use of Artificial Intelligence for academic tasks contribute to

a dependency mindset among STEM students?

4. What are the long-term implications of allowing Artificial Intelligence to predominantly

shape the learning experiences of STEM students, particularly regarding creativity,

innovation, and individuality?

Significance of the Study

This study's findings add to the body of knowledge and provide information on the

Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on how Science, Technology, Engineering, and

Mathematics (STEM) students finish their tasks.

Students, for them to gain a wider knowledge and guidance on how this Artificial

Intelligence affects the completion of their tasks, and to be more cautious, particularly about

academic dishonesty.

Parents or Guardians, to keep an eye on and supervise their children’s academic

behavior or monitor and properly guide them in using AI excessively.

Educators, for them to educate, assess, and monitor learners in using these AI tools. In

addition, it provides insight to teachers and can understand why students use Artificial

Intelligence.

Future Researchers, this study serves as a guide and provides greater details and

information for their future research addressing the same topic of the impact of Artificial

Intelligence on how STEM students finish their tasks.

Scope and Limitations of the Study

This study will prioritize and identify the Impact of AI on STEM students. The purpose of

this study is to determine a student’s perspective and perceptions based on their knowledge and

experiences of the topic. As a result, this study discovers and seeks their opinions and insights

about the impact of AI on STEM students in Catholic schools on social media, which is

beneficial to raising awareness, and reaching out to parents, educators, and in particular to minors

who are not properly informed on the topic. This study will be conducted for STEM students who

are studying in catholic schools. The selected respondents will only be STEM students from Holy

Spirit Academy of Laoag and ages (16-18).

CHAPTER 2
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

Artificial Intelligence is a computer development that is capable of performing all the

tasks that are considered and required as human intelligence. It gives a lot of understanding such

as languages, recognizing different types of patterns, learning in every experience, making its

own decision in generating ideas, and lastly solving difficult problems like solving math. It also

refers to the stimulation of human intelligence through different types of machines., (Coursera

Staff 2023).

Theoretical Framework
There has been a rise in the use of artificial intelligence Artificial Intelligence (AI) in

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. An AI-driven education

brings with it potential benefits and challenges to the way students learn, and leaves implications

for the future of how STEM is taught. The development of Artificial Intelligence is wide-ranging,

causing attitudinal vulnerability, excessive reliance, lack of interest in subject matter, cognitive

dissonance, and several other factors.

Furthermore, the increased integration of Artificial Intelligence in education is raising

concerns among educators and school administrators. One major challenge is the potential bias

embedded in Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms, which can perpetuate existing inequalities

and reinforce stereotypes. It is crucial to ensure Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems used in

education are designed with fairness, transparency, and inclusivity in mind., (Lauren

Chiangpradit, 2023). AI is also causing issues with the authenticity of student work and output.

Many educators are juggling how to ensure students are completing their assignments

individually without the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications. This issue is something

still being addressed and consistently discussed to all STEM Students. However, more recently,

potential positive aspects of Artificial Intelligence (AI) use have been explored. In order to

provide the best evidence-based advice to STEM students, the positive aspects of Artificial

Intelligence (AI) are to provide benefits of Artificial Intelligence towards STEM student’s tasks

management.

In fact, Artificial Intelligence can help students overcome their schoolwork's, by

incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbots in education provides valuable homework and
study assistance by offering detailed feedback on assignments, guiding students through complex

problems, and providing step-by-step solutions. They also act as study companions, offering

explanations and clarifications on various subjects. Overall, students appreciate the capabilities

of AI chatbots and find them helpful for their studies and time management, recognizing that

they complement human intelligence rather than replace it, this clearly shows that Artificial

Intelligence is considered as a convenient tool that can sustain better mental stability. (Lasha

Labadze, Maya Grigolia, & Lela Machaidze., 31 October 2023).
