Modular learning became the primary method of distance learning in the Philippines during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study surveyed 20 neighbors of the author enrolled in modular learning to understand the impacts on academic performance. Most respondents said they found it difficult to complete all modules on time due to spending time working, lacking internet access and device usage time, and not having enough time to dedicate to school while also helping at home. The recommendation is to give students more time to complete modules, return to face-to-face learning when possible, allow exemptions for late module submissions, and ensure module content matches student needs.

•Modular Learning is the most mainstream sort of Distance Learning. In the
Philippines, this learning methodology is presently utilized by all state funded schools on the grounds that as per a review directed by the Department of Education (DepEd), learning through printed and advanced modules arose as the most favored distance learning technique for guardians with youngsters in home who are selected this scholarly year. This is also in consideration of the learners in rural areas where the internet is not accessible for the online learning. This paper outlines the impacts of modular learning on the academic performance of the students during the Covid -19 Pandemic, providing the research conducted on the basis of my neighbors that who were enrolled at Purok 4-A, Aglayan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon and analyzing what are they sayings or opinions about modular learning that can affects to their academic performance as a student. Introduction •Modular learning is a form of distance learning that uses Self-Learning Modules (SLM) based on the most essential learning modules include sections of motivation and assessments that serve as a complete guide of both teachers and students desired competencies. This refers to a learning delivery modality between the teacher and the learners who are geographically remote for each other. • In the Philippines, President Rodrigo R. Duterte mandated the Department of Education (DepEd) to delay, if not, cancel the face-to-face teaching as long as the vaccine for the Coronavirus diseases is not yet made available to the general public. However, opting not to delay education, Depend introduce the alternative learning delivery modalities that utilize the modern technology. Problem Statement •The most challenges that the students have encountered in this modular learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic are self-studying, have a poor internet connection, lack of sleep, lack of time for the family and yourself, time to answer all the modules, lack of focus, can't do your role in your housing chores, being laziness to answer the modules, and many more. Most students do their modules for formality purposes. It is very devastating in the part of the teacher to know that students are taking modules for granted. The truth is, teachers don't have the ability to foresee their students in the premises of their homes. • The goal of this capstone project is to provide an analysis with regards on the impacts of modular learning on their academic performance and to conduct a survey about what are they sayings or opinions about implementing the modular learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Research Methods This study is a descriptive research study using survey method. The research is conducted at Purok 4-A, Aglayan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. Only my neighbors who are enrolled in this modular learning this year are presented as my participants in this activity. I choose only 20 respondents in this study. Before starting this survey, the participants must follows the guidelines from the DOH like wearing facemask and social distancing just to avoid the Covid-19 in my community. The opinions were gathered through a survey, particularly with open-ended questions about the topic. Findings Based on the data that I’ve collected, 18 out of 20 of my respondents said that they find it difficult to answer their respective modules because they spend everything at work so that they can’t answer and pass all their modules in time but they pass it very lately. They also have a hard time because they have a hard time finding money for a load, if there is a load the data connection is very weak and it can’t search very quickly. Others haven’t time for bonding with their families and themselves because they do their best and efforts to pass the modules early. It is better to have face-to-face learning than this new normal learning mode because it is easy to learn when the teacher who is teaching is in front of you. Recommendation • They must be given two weeks instead of one week of answering their modules •Much better if we do face to face learning than this new learning modalities •They must give some exemptions with regards of late passes of their modules •In modules, they must make beyond any doubt that all the lessons or exercises are fitting to the needs of the learners. Thank you!
