5.3 Feedback to improve learning

ANNOTATION
Feed back is one way to improve teacher classroom teaching
learning process as well as learners growth and performance.
As Master Teacher and LAC leader it is one of my function to
provide TA to my colleagues about on how to give effective
feedback to learners. During coaching and mentoring I always
emphasize to them, that feedback should be given in timely
manner and feedback should also reference a skill or specific
knowledge. This is where rubrics become useful tool.

ANNOTATION
A lesson plan is the teacher’s road map of what
students to learn and how it is being delivered to
learners. In this new normal MDL is one of the best
teaching modality mostly adopted by public school
teachers. But to supplement the modules, video
lesson is also use by my teacher to address the
needs of the learners.

ANNOTATION
Quality instructional materials is one the most
important learning resources that can make big
difference in students learning. Learning resources are
things that helps teacher to do some aspect of their
job to do better .In our FGD among Grade 9 teachers
I’ve made an emphasis always in selecting quality
instructional materials .These are the points to
considered: 1. Accuracy and visual appeal. 2.
Alignment to MELC standard. 3.Engagement.

ANNOTATION
Good lesson planning is essential in the process of
teaching and learning. As teacher, even in this
pandemic time/crisis we must be committed to
spending the necessary time in this. In preparing DLL
this new normal I have to considered always the
educative level of learners because not all learners
can grasp a lesson on the same way. So, to better
deliver my lessons and address the needs of all my
learners I use DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION
strategy.

ANNOTATION
The most important reason to plan is that, it ensures
your students time in the classroom is worthwhile.
As teacher I should tie all my activities to specific
learning objectives and connect on my DLL. This DLL
is my guide that outline the learning objectives. The
heart of learning objectives are the tasks that the
students is expected to perform, and it is the most
important part of DLL because it is students centered
and outcome base.

ANNOTATION
Teacher have a direct influence over the successor
failure of students. To achieve , it is then imperative
for teachers to plan learning activities aligned with
learning competencies to minimize waste of time,
wherein students are able to focus on skills geared
toward the learning objectives. Teacher should
ensure that all learning activities foster an
environment that is favorable to instruction plus
learning.

ANNOTATION
In monitoring and evaluation of learners progress
teacher have a great role. As Master Teacher and
LAC leader I have to lead initiative and work
collaboratively with colleagues to evaluate and
review the different assessment strategies of the
teachers . I mentor and coach to my colleagues in
the effective analysis and use of learners attainment
data.

ANNOTATION
Professional links with colleagues influences the
personal and professional growth of teachers. As a
teaching mentor , I tell all my mentees that teacher
relationship with colleagues are incredibly important
because they contribute to a more positive school
climate. Here are some tips I give to my mentees to
help them develop meaningful ,respectful and
helpful relationship: 1.Be Trustworthy 2.Listen and

ANNOTATION
Effective communication between teachers, students,
and parents is extremely important. For me, it allows
to perform my job as a teacher well that gives
positive results to my learners. With proper
communication, I believe that learners become
motivated and engage whatever task is given by the
teacher as well as encourage participation as most
importantly it builds rapport between me and my
learners.

ANNOTATION
The stakeholders play an important role in managing
schools. They are the partners of the school leaders in
making the school conducive to teaching and
learning. They are also responsible for the
achievement of the learning outcome thru their
active participation in school activities, program and
projects. One of the program implemented by our
school on this new normal is the HELP DESK PROJECT.

ANNOTATION
Feedback can improve a student’s confidence, self-
awareness and enthusiasm for learning. Providing
timely and positive feedback to students enhances
learning and improve assessment performance,
because we are giving explanation of what they are
doing correctly and incorrectly and what they need to
do to improve it.

7.5 – Professional development goals.

ANNOTATION

Attending seminars, trainings, conferences had numerous


benefits to all teachers. They help every teacher learn more
about their profession so they can be more effective.
The different seminars, trainings I had attended helps me
a lot in improving my teaching performance. This is one of my
professional development plan for this school year. My
attendance on this seminars/trainings help me create an
effective learning environment, improve teaching-learning
situations particularly on this new normal, keep updated on
modern instructional devices and inspire me to become better
teaching mentor to my colleagues.
