CSR activities highlight:


1. Environment protection campaign for the public (focused on kids):
• 100% CSR activities integrated with healthy living and environment
protection elements (highlighted in releases, branding items and mass
media etc.)
• Serial cycling events organized, calling for people to participate in healthy
living campaign by cycling daily and sponsoring bicycles for children with
more than 3,000 bikes donated in 2021. 14,937 beneficiaries and 12,094
voluntary work hours
2. Recycling enhancement:
• 100% materials for CSR events are recyclable (using non-woolen bags as
promotion items).
• 100% participants fully engaged and committed.
3. Plant trees: Supporting the call of PM planting 1 billion trees in 5 years
with 10,000 trees planted by AIA VN in 2021.

• 100% Led lighting used when renovating offices in 2021
• Maximizing natural lighting and flexible working space and resources

• All new offices installed with water purifier replacing plastic bottled water; Using glass
bottles and paper cups at all offices
• The consumption of plastic bottled water in 2021 decreased 54,54% compared to 2020

4. Environment protection habits/awareness education at work


• Green corners in offices and staff events integrated with related elements (e.g Christmas decoration with recycled
materials, used papers; used smart devices donation campaign).
• Maximizing paperless operation: Printing paper consumed: -50% YoY in 2021 and -65% vs. 2019.
• Promote and maximize hybrid/mobile working to reduce emission (e.g Travel km of 2021 decreased by 50% YoY and -
70% vs. 2019).

Board and Management Quality:


• The Board is being chaired by a non-executive member and one of Board members is an
independent and non-executive director. The Board comprises members whose had diverse
expertise in insurance, investment, legal and auditing in Vietnam and overseas markets. In
supporting for the Board on risk and control supervision, there are availabilities of other audit,
investment and risk committees. The Audit Committee is being chaired by an independent and
non-executive member.
• The Board met at least 4 times a year to update, review business performance, human
resource and risk and control supervision (acting through audit committee) and made
resolutions, where required, as per the voting rules in accordance with the Board Charters,
Audit Committee’s Terms of References, and local and AIA Group’s policies and procedures
without any audit observations.
• All board members has fulfilled their roles and responsibilities. All meeting minutes, materials
and resolutions are made and retained in an appropriate manner.
• Board approvals are in place for matters which subject to the Board’s approval under AIA’s
internal policies and procedures and/or local rules.

Ethics: The 2021 Gallup Survey score For 3 ethics related questions were maintained at high
scores of 4.5; 4.34; 4.43
• Tone of the top: Board of Director’s messages to staff & 2021 Leader Talk conducted by
EXCO/ SMT;
• Ethical Sales force: Annual certification of compliance obligation for all staff in Agency & PD
management
• Ethical supplier: Code of Supplier was introduced in 2021

Data Quality: Data quality is one of the areas of focus for transforming our risk and control
environment. To lead this effort, we have established a Data Governance team to track the flow of
data within the company and to improve our technology and processes. During 2021, the team
began build up the data mart, mapping the flow of data across different parts of the organization
from end-to-end.

To increase the effectiveness of anti-money laundering (AML) control, the AML control automation
plan for have all key AML control automated by end of 2022 was approved by management and
the AML control automation reached 67% automation by 31Dec21 from 21% automation in
Feb2021

Business Resilience: Deploying a business model work from home and remote sales tool that
meeting significant Covid challenges that enable operation and sale in lockdown/ social distance
period.

Transparency of corporate disclosure


• Complied with regulatory requirement for corporate disclosure
• Full audited financial statement were published in AIAV website to provide the public with
adequate information on AIAV’s operation and financial position.

() There are 5 maturity levels for a risk management model rated from ad-hoc risk management approach (level 1) to advanced risk management system (level 5). Our current risk management model is rated at level 3, which means that risk management
practices are well defined, documented and there is consistent application across all business unit functions, and there is good use of evidence-based data and more sophisticated risk management techniques to support risk informed decision making and
provide risk-based assurance that risks are being managed effectively. We aim to establish an integrated risk management model (level 4) in 2025. At this level, risk management practices are partially integrated within the business’s structures and people
capability. There is strong use of evidence-based data and advanced risk management techniques to support risk informed decision making.
