Introduction
Today’s juvenile are tomorrow’s potential entrepreneurs. Many youths are engaged in small-scale businesses like direct
selling, reselling and etc. . Previous researchers have proven that entrepreneurial intent is the primary predictor of future
entrepreneur. According to Krueger, entrepreneurial activity can be predicted more accurately by studying intention rather than
personality traits or situational factors (Krueger N.R. 2000).

Muigai's study discovered that students do influence each other to participate in entrepreneurship, and that influence from
family as well as personal entrepreneurship experiences contribute to higher entrepreneurship inclinations (Muigai, 2019).
According to Huang M's research, it would be interesting to see if entrepreneurial education can have a significant impact on
entrepreneurial engagement in the Philippine context (Huang, 2016).

The goal of this study is to look into the factors that influence the entrepreneurial intentions among young individuals. This
study will be useful to intellectuals because it will add to the discussion about how to boost the field of entrepreneurship in order to
tap into the need that the economy has, while also providing a solution to the problem of unemployment. Entrepreneurial intent has
been shown to be a primary predictor of future entrepreneurship behavior, so determining what factors influence entrepreneurial
intention is essential in entrepreneurship research.
Methodology

Research Design
This study employed the descriptive method of research, for it is
designed to determine the extent or degree to which two or more variables
are associated with each other. The design entailed the process of collecting
data in order to answer questions concerning the factors that influence the
entrepreneurial intentions among young individuals.

Locale of the Study
The study will be carried out within the Municipality of Aparri,
speciifically at Barangay Tallungan. Aparri is a coastal municipality
located at the northernmost part in the Province of Cagayan. The
municipality has a land area of 286.64 square kilometers or 110.67 square
miles which constitutes 3.05% of Cagayan's total area. It has 42 barangays,
most of which are across the temperamental Cagayan River.

Respondents
The researchers will randomly select young individuals of Barangay
Tallungan. A total of 60 participants between the ages of 16 and 29 with
mobile device and a Facebook/email account will be surveyed.
Data Gathering Procedure
The researchers will seek permission to conduct the study from the Office of the College of
Business Entrepreneurship and Accountancy at Cagayan State University - Aparri via a letter of
request. Once approval is obtained, the researchers will conduct the study using an online survey
questionnaire created with Google Forms in accordance with the health and safety measures in
place during the Covid-19 pandemic. The information gathered from survey respondents will be
entered into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, which will organize the data. The link to the online survey
questionnaire will be sent via personal email and/or messenger.
Data Gathering Tools
The researchers will use a portion of the questions developed in
Liñan and Chen's (2009) Entrepreneurial Intentions
Questionnaire (EIQ) to collect data from respondents. Liñan and
Chen (2009) validated the questionnaire's reliability and validity to
ensure that each pool of questions is related to the same subject and
that each subject corresponds to the required measure.
The research questionnaire has two sections:

Demographic Profile

Likert scale items on respondents’ level of agreement and

knowledge of EI-related statements.
Statistical Treatment
The data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics to describe the participants’ profile, such as
mean, frequency count, and percentage. Meanwhile, factor analysis will be used to derive patterns
from the responses to items associated with the Entrepreneurial Intention (EI). Pearson Correlation
Coefficient will be used to analyze the association strength between two variables. Chi-square will
be used to determine the interrelationships of the variables.
The five-point Likert scale will be used in Part 2 of the survey questionnaire.
Scale Mean Value Respondent’s Action
5 4.21 – 5.00 Strongly Agree
4 3.41 – 4.20 Agree
3 2.61 – 3.40 Neither Agree nor Disagree

2 1.81 – 2.60 Disagree

1 1.00 – 1.80 Strongly Disagree
Statement of the Problem
This study attempts to determine the factors that influence the entrepreneurial intention among young
individuals in Tallungan, Aparri. Specifically, it will seek to provide answers for the following
questions:

1. What is the profile of the participants in terms of:

a. Age
b. Gender
c. Birth Order
d. Size of Household
e. Level of Education
f. Role in Family financing
g. Current Employment Status
2. Determine the factors that influence the level of entrepreneurial intention of the participants.
3. Assess the levels of entrepreneurial intention of the participants.
4. Is there a significant relationship among the demographic factors and level of entrepreneurial
intention?
