SAMPLING TECHNIQUES

 Simple random sampling

It is a method where the researcher randomly selects sub-set of participants from a
population..
 Example: The names od 25 employees being chosen out of a hat from a company
of 250 employees .

 Systematic Sampling
It is a more simplified and versatile method where researchers select members of
the population at a regular interval
Example : Selecting every 15th person on a list of the population
SAMPLING TECHNIQUES

 Stratified Sampling
Where the researcher wants to highlight a specific subgroups within the population

Example : If the researcher wanted a sample of 50k graduates using age range, the
proportionate stratified sample will be obtained using this formula ( sample size / population
size ) *stratum size . The table assumes a population size of 1.8L MBA graduates per year.

 Cluster Sampling
It is where the researcher divides the larger population into smaller units
Example : An NGO wants to create a sample of girls across five neighborhoods towns tp provide
education.
